I've tried watching Maher twice. Unlike Dennis Miller, a far better and more intelligent host, Maher has clearly stacked his audience with far left wing people. Even Larry Miller hardly says a thing. When Dennis Miller was on a few weeks back, the audience booed him because he agreed with the war

I was there...she was in full martyr gear wailing about the persecution of the anti-war mnovement and the crushing of dissent....of course I have already heard this rant during the 100 previous appearances by Garafalo on everything from Fox News to the Weather Channel ;-)

It's true. I live here.
And no, I'm not a mental case (I'm not in the entertainment industry, so that helps).

Garofalo pretty much let the cat out of the bag when she was asked why she didn't protest the bombing of Serbia by Clinton. Her reply was that it just "wasn't hip" back then. The fact is that Garofalo wouldn't be saying a word if it was Clinton who ordered the liberation of Iraq. Why? As she said, it wouldn't be "hip."

She is not only stupid, she's not funny--the funniest thing about her is her face.

That set off Garofalo: ?That one guy that had that one sign that you'll probably beat into the ground. You're going to use it over and over whether it actually existed or not. That's what all you right-wing radio hosts do. You make shit up all the time.? Yeah, like your career, bitch.

She's pissed because those Fox hosts kicked her ass on live TV...either that or the oncoming rush of irrelevancy.

When she popped on the scene about a month or so ago, someone on FR had a link to the IMDB - a list of movies and television shows she has been featured in. I took a look at it and it was not until I saw Mystery Men - about 20 movies down - that I recognized something she was in. Her remark about Vin Diesel tells a lot. I do not watch his movies either but it seems she's got a bug up her rearend probably because his movies draw more people.

Here is the Garofalo
QUOTE:
Comedian Janeane Garofalo explains that Hollywood didn't protest the Clinton military ventures because "it wasn't very hip." By Hollywood standards, what was "hip" when Mr. Clinton did it, gets a negative flip when Mr. Bush does it.

What is helpful is that whenever semi-educated pseudo-intellectuals like Garafalo appear in public they actually undermine the anti-war people.
I personally don't take issue with people who, after examining the arguments, remain anti-war. But people as venemously anti-Republican or caustic as she just bug me.
