I clicked on someone's profile this morning, and noticed that John Robinson has updated their format.
I like it! Great job!

That is all. Please return to your regularly scheduled Freeping.

I don't know. There is not a lot of contrast between your screen name/date and the background.

I know, and that's my only gripe with the new format. The top bar with the name and links is very difficult to read between the tiny fonts and the low-contrast color scheme.

Any way for us to fiddle with the settings, JR and JR? Other than that, I think the pages look great!

Thanks again, and good point!

Guess I'll have to play with the HTML this weekend... :-)

Oh, and if you scroll to the very bottom of your "About" page, you'll see a link on the far left that says "You can edit this page." :-)

Oh, yes, there it is. Thank you!! That solves one problem.

Well, MINE (You can Edit This Page) was inserted on the upper left corner ON TOP OF MY MAIN TABLE, and about an inch and a half of the main part of that table was missing the inside color (the dark solid navy - only the gold was showing) However, I had someone else check, and they weren't seeing what I was seeing, so it's a bit annoying, not seeing it how it's supposed to look - never mind that the fonts are not the same size they were intended to be and the size they were before the change. Many of the fonts are LARGER than they were when I view it anywhere else, and many are SMALLER)

Hm, interesting, and makes sense. Do you think that's what might be causing Mama_Bear's problem?

I use IE almost exclusively now, tho' when working on my website I check it on Netscape before publishing.

Yes, that is exactly what I am seeing. Another FReeper told me where I could find the "edit", at the bottom of my page. But I am not going to attempt to make any changes until these problems get straightened out.

BTW, I looked at your page and I definitely don't see what you are seeing. The main difference I see are the font sizes and your table backgrounds are just solid blue color. If you have a background image, it is not showing up.

I'm using IE now and have tiny fonts on my page. Fonts on the forum are OK. They are using classes rather than font tags, so it's hard to see what the source of the problem is.

However, on IE (which I use - have never used Netscape), there is a feature you check to make sure that you DO view all fonts, etc as the web page intended, not as your browser intended. I don't know if Netscape has that or not.

Hmmmmm, I clicked on your name just now, and it told me that you haven't created an "about" page yet. I get no profile page for you. : (

It's true that I haven't added anything except my state. If you do set up something, you'll have to use something other than the default font.

:) I've always used other fonts than the default. Some are larger than they were before John changed things, and some are smaller. Go figure. I sure can't. :)

Can you send me a screen capture? In Windows, hit your Print Scrn key to put a copy of your screen into your clipboard. Then open a graphics program (MS Paint will work) paste in the screen shot, save it, and e-mail it to john@robinson-defehr.com.

Anybody else with font problems... is the font too large, too small, or just right?

Right now I have my image cut up and set in a table that is currently 600 pixels wide.

When nesting tables (say three on top of each other or inside each other), use width=100% for the first one, specify the width of the next one at 90% (play with the numbers), and the next one at 80% (for example).

Not necessary to specify height except in certain cases.

The 100% table will cover the entire area your system allows, the 90% table will cover 90% of that 100% table, and the 80% table will cover 80% of that 90% table.

If you prefer a narrow table, start with width=60%, for example. Play with numbers, colors, borders, padding, cell spacing, etc.

what happened to our freeper numbers? Like when you put the cursor over a name and you see a number? Is that gone?
