Fed's attack Texas church and burn it to the ground.....
PBS - WGBH/Frontline ^ | 1995 | PBS

Posted on 04/19/2003 2:05:26 PM PDT by ASTM366

As I do each year, I post information to commemorate the attack by FBI agents in military vehicles on the Branch Davidians compound near Waco, Texas on April 19, 1993.

The Branch Davidians, a reclusive group of Christian believers, had been attacked 51 days earlier by over 100 heavily armed BATF agents, surrounded and subjected to psychological warfare techniques by government agents. On April 19th the feds sent in military vehicles to fill the building at the Branch Davidian compound with chemical agents to flush out the remaining occupants. What resulted was a fire that burned to death nearly all the occupants; INNOCENT men, women, children and infants. Some committed suicide by self inflicted gunshot.

To this day the federal government has never accepted responsibility for the events of 1993, nor have they apologized for their ugly and glaring display of unchecked power.

In a tragic and spectacular act of revenge, Timothy McVeigh and his associates carbombed the offices of the BATF and FBI in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995.

I don't know how you can stand conversing with these moronic mouth breathers.

Blind obeyance and faith in McNutty's perjured works?

That would be my diagnoses ...

PS. I have resolved from now on to BREATHE through my gills or not at all ...

Considering that the leader was known to go out and about on a regular basis .. stopping him in his truck

This gets old -

"Hearsay and anecdotal" - NOT to mention it opens up the possibility of a 'gun fight' in public or on a public road.

Vernon Wayne Howell* armed - yuh think so?

* Full name: Vernon Wayne "No-way I'm going to jail AGAIN" Howell

With the intent being to 'flush' the people from the compound - woman hopefully shielding their children from the gas - was this not a half-bad plan?

No! It was a no brain plan. A good plan was not putting on a show. Just arrest the guy when he was in town. Oh! sorry BATF screwed that one.

Most people would have seeked fresh air - out of the compound

Not if you are being shot at.

But, not so with this group - THEY donned gas masks UNDER the direction of Vernon Wayne Howell AKA "David Death" instead!

Could have tried waitingy them out

Do you know of an on-line source?

"... 'cuz I know of no other *trusted* sources of info on this subjet other then McNutty's *fine* works of fabrication or what I've picked-up from the uber-patriot web-sites."

Uh - huh.

Its unfortunate that you think that my condemnation of government agents killing citizens at their place of worship qualifies me as a nut case.

Think about it.

You may not agree with the teachings of the Branch Davidians, but Mt. Carmel was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, a place where a congregation of believers worshipped and studied God's Word.

Do you have prove to the contrary?

Every BATF agent who entered Mount Carmel Center during that initial attack should be charged with 11 counts of

WHY oh WHY did the Davidians resist a lawful order and allow law enforcement officers to proceed with the carrying out a lawful order?

WAS there material that Vernon Wayne Howell feared *WOULD* be found - and he couldn't take a chance on that? Was that it in a nutshell - guilty con-man fears his world is about to unravel SO he slams the door back shut!

AND - he *KNEW* there was incriminating material - AND he had absolutely *no* desire to be hauled back before a law-abiding magistrate again and RISK a trial and eventual imprisonment.

Oh the horror! Being sent up for an crime! No more pre-teens! Oh the horror!

My position on the whole Koresh affair, from beginning to end, is that Koresh (a mental case of one sort or another) started the problem. His followers let themselves be deceived. I think the governmental agencies involved mishandled the situation. There's plenty of blame to go around. As far as I'm concerned, though, the buck stops with Janet Reno. The children's blood is on everybody's hands, starting with idiot parents.

I do not believe that the ATF killed any women or children purposefully. I leave that belief to the freaking nuts here at FR who think that everyone should be as nutty as they are, who believe that they have some special knowledge and insight that "the sheep" do not have.

Again, you're making lots of claims, but have yet to link a credible source to even ONE of them.

You know why - the 'proof' you're looking for would figuratively burn your eyeballs out ... the *truth* would be that stark ...

"SINCE this pyrotechnice device was fired AWAY from the wooden building there was no harm - NO FOUL."

Dallas Morning News 3/9/00 Lee Hancock "…..The Branch Davidians' Wednesday pleading also argued that another FBI agent's recent deposition supported the sect's contention that the government's actions could have sparked some of the fires. Plaintiff's attorneys said that a hostage rescue team member testified last week that his armored vehicle and another Bradley fighting vehicle were each stocked with 10 pyrotechnic military gas rounds that day. Agents in the vehicles repeatedly fired tear gas canisters at the compound during the final assault…….. But Wednesday's motion by the sect's lawyers noted that the hostage rescue team member testified that he heard a colleague tell an FBI lawyer earlier this year that he had fired three rounds into the kitchen of the compound just before the building caught fire. The HRT member testified that his colleague also told the lawyer with the FBI's Congressional Affairs Office that he saw puffs of white smoke rise from that same area about 30 seconds after he fired. Military gas rounds used by the FBI burn for about 20 to 30 seconds after being fired to expel tear gas in a cloud of white smoke. ……"

Well ... I tend to agree with you (because of their style), however, they do not keep you from leaving the group - and that's a big clue to the cult mindset.
