This is but a vanity.
I wanted to do something for the soldiers of Operation Iraqi Freedom and their families, especially those who have given their lives for all of us still at home.
They are but a name in the news, a number on a list for many of us. I wanted to change that, somehow.
I pray to God daily to keep our soldiers safe, to touch the families who've lost loved ones and bring them comfort and peace, but prayer is often private. So I sat down and created something I could share with everyone, html being something I know a little bit about, and could use to spread the word.
I don't personally know any of the heroes who died, (for that is what they are to me, Heroes), but I hope I have given faces to names, and opened a window into their lives for anyone who would like to learn more about these men and women who fought, and died, for all of us.
Happy Easter. Happy Passover.
God Bless Our Troops, God Bless Our President, and God Bless America.

Is your website just for the 128 and counting honored dead?
Could you find casualty lists of wounded that we could pray for?
To: patriciaruth
Yes, it is for the fallen American and British soldiers (no Australian casualties to date).
I still have not found a complete list of wounded, but will add it to the site as soon as I do.
I've had trouble with getting complete information on the wounded, as much as I've had trouble finding pictures of most of the British troops.

God bless you for creating and maintaining such a site.
We must nover forget these heroes, or any others who have died in defense of our liberties.
Here is my own effort towards the same end that I officially opened a little over two weeks ago:
Winning Iraqi Freedom
The more factual and good iformation we all get out there, the better.

http://yumasun.com/artman/publish/articles/story_5006.shtml Padilla, 26, was officially declared killed in action April 11 after having been missing for more than a week. He was taking part in convoy operations near Nasiriyah when he disappeared.
Padilla leaves behind a wife and two young sons, including one born just days before he was deployed in February.
Although Padilla's funeral was held Wednesday in his hometown of San Luis, Ariz., Marine Corps officials wanted to hold a memorial service for him on the air station to allow his comrades-in-arms to pay their respects, officials said.

I believe he was officially listed as a KIA by the DOD on April 11th ... but that the actual date of his death has not been given yet.
I have him listed further down in the list in the section that lists those heroes killed where the date of death is not given.
This is the description I have listed:
Marine Sgt. Fernando Padilla-Ramirez, 26, of Yuma, Ariz. Engaged in operations March 28 in the vicinity of Nasiriyah, remains identified on April 10. Assigned to the Marine Wing Support Squadron-371, Marine Wing Support Group-37, Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Ariz.

Thank you so much for posting a link to your site. You've done an amazing job, I am humbled. :) I will include it in a page I am adding of other memorial sites for the War. I especially like your domain name! God Bless You for your own effort.

FReepers, if you have also built a memorial/tribute site for the War in Iraq, post it here! I'd like to gather them all and include them in my own site so more people will see the support this Operation has at home. I'd also like to hear any comments you may have, if any. Thank you. :)

I was so outraged and frustrated by the blatant slant of the liberal media and the seditious nature of many of the protests that I had to turn that energy into something positive.
WinningIraqiFreedom.com was the result.
Please sign the guestbook there and include the URL for your site. You should consider getting a guestbook for your site too. The one I am using is free ... just click on the small logo (link) to it on any of those pages. The counter is free too.

Not exactly a tribute to the operation Iraqi freedom, since this site was originally created in response to 911, but we have actively supported the war.
