I finally found the website I was looking for. Unfortunately they don't have a bio on Prado. For facts on many of Bush's nominees, have a look at
http://www.judicialselection.com/ For Democratic liberal garbage on Bush's nominees (so you can tell the composition of the compost they're slinging) go to
http://www.independentjudiciary.com/ As is typical, they kidnap the language and hold it hostage to whatever meaning they want. In this case, "Independent" means "parroting the biased claims of NOW, Planned Parenthood, People for the *un*American Way, the DNC, and other left wing nutball groups"

I hope Freepers understand that it may be in Bush's best hands to "sit" on Estrada until say October 2004I couldn't agree more, and said much the same thing in a later post. I don't like the idea of keeping Estrada and Owens hanging out there from the standpoint of their personal professional lives. On the other hand, as political chips they will gain value in every vote where the Democrats go on record blocking their consideration. The fall of 2004 will definitely be redemption time;)

Come on, you guys ... recess appointments are NOT a panacea. In fact, I believe that in the case of judgeships a recess appointment would be, at worst, a Demodog victory, and at best, neutral. This fight must be carried on politically, and electorally and judicially - there are many roads to success here. The important thing for each and every one of us to take note of here is that neither the White House or the Senate leadership has given up the fight on this, and there is no indication that they are going to cave.
By the way, I DO believe a truly temporary recess appointment of Bork would be a great move. It would be fantastic to have the Demodogs attempt to redefend their obstruction of him... There was no such counter to the mediots then as we have now. They would be drawn and quartered if they attempted that today. His admonitions and predictions over the past ten years have by now been so clearly borne out as to be indisputable by more than 60% of the electorate.
I'd double dog dare them...

This Sutton vote demonstrates that the Demodogs are not going to have much of a stomach to oppose too many other of the President's judges, I really believe. They may simply choose to pound themselves against the granite of Estrada, and possibly Owens, and they are going to lose to that in the end. I mean, look at the way the three declared senator-candidates voted! How can they get away with this much longer? They will cave sooner or later, or they will be in a great world of hurt.

There have been two nominees held up from receiving an up/down vote by the democrats so far.... Estrada and Owen. When Pickering is brought to the floor he most likely will be number three... There have been 119 of President Bush's judicial nominees approved so far, 100 in the 107th and 19 in the 108th. Senator Hatch has some 40 nominees in Committee awaiting hearings, etc. He needs to move these as quickly as possible and get them availabe for floor debate. Get them out there and lets see where the democrats stand......

Is a double filabuster possible? Is the cousin of my cousin, my cousin?
To: TomHarkinIsNotFromIowa
I think the senate needs to do the full fillibuster thing and stop traffic of everything else until these good people are passed...
To: AFPhys
I heard Rush a couple days ago talk about this, (for each nominated judge that gets Borked recess a much more right leaning judge in his or her place.}
Watch the dems go absolutely nuts.
Great idea, then the dems would come to the realization that there is a price.
