This is a wonderful thing! I had cornea transplant Wednesday morning at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Dr. Tom Gillette presiding.
Known to those who have them as a "T," transplant went well, general anaesthetic has worn off to a major extent. Eyelid is somewhat swollen, requiring cold compresses, and eyeball feels like a small cat is occasionaly scratching it. But I'm functioning again and feeling very energetic.
The T eye is blurry, however, and return of good vision can take from two weeks to two years. Please pray for return of good vision in my right eye soon.
Yours for clarity and vision,
PoisedWoman

My thoughts are with you.
My mother just went through having a detached retina fixed
and is ssssooooooooo relieved to be able to see again.
I have cataracts and they are getting worse, but not
"ripe" enough to operate yet.
Thank God for modern medicine.

If the doc says that my cataracts aren't ripe yet, I will go into a Freeper-perfected rant.

May the Lord of all healing answer your prayers with comfort and renewed vision.
May you be refreshed with more of His Holy Spirit.
May He bless all that you set your heart, your hands and even more now, your vision, to accomplish for His Glory.

Many thanks for prayers and good wishes.
My problem was supposedly going to be fixed with cataract surgery in January, but it made my vision worse, not better, as physician failed to diagnose underlying condition: Fuchs' Corneal Dystrophy. At this point, I believe that all corneal surgery should be performed by a corneal specialist, not your friendly neighborhood ophthalmologist. That's where I made my mistake. A specialist would have caught Fuchs' in a NY minute and used different procedure and medicines during surgery to prevent the damage my doc caused.
Fuchs' effects one percent of the population and is hereditary. Still, I had no clue, as I'm the first to have it in my known family. The test for Fuchs (and other corneal dystrophies) takes 14 seconds if your doc has the right little meter, a pachymeter, that measures corneal thickness. It's different from intraocular pressure (IOP), which they all measure.
Good luck with your cataracts! And ongoing prayers for clarity and vision.

Yep, I first noticed that headlights were brown/amber when using only my left eye and sure enough there was a problem.
NOw a couple of years later, headlights look brown/amber out of my right eye, which tells me it's gotten worse than
the left.
Plus I tend to be nightblind from thirty years of welding arcs.
Old age ain't for sissies.
