CNN Suffers Post-War Trauma
IMDB.com ^ | 5-26-03

Posted on 05/26/2003 12:22:31 PM PDT by Paul Atreides

Since the end of the Iraq war, CNN has seen a disastrous plunge in its ratings from where they were prior to the war, CNN cofounder Reese Schonfeld observed on his website Friday. Without citing sources, Schonfeld disclosed that from January 1 to February 15, CNN/Headline News combined averaged a 43.5-percent marketshare. Last week, he said, the combined total of the two news channels is 37.3 percent. On the other hand, he noted, Fox News now commands 51 percent of the share points, up 42 percent over its pre-war numbers. "This is a time for ... analysis," Schonfeld declared on his website, . "This is unprecedented and calls for immediate action."

I felt their coverage was slanted toward their foreign markets during the war...

You, I and others have noted that the rats are doing the same with their voter base as ABCNNBCBS have been doing with their market shares.

What they have done since 2000 is truly suicidal.

You may be right about them splitting off a third party.
Naders/Greens are in reality a splinter party. T

here might be three parties, the greens and other radical groups, some party of racial minorites, and whatever this current brand of rats is that is represented by the DNC.

"We know Eason (sp?) lied about all sorts of Iraqi issues. Why should we not assume he is lying about lots of other issues, as well?"

When Eason Jordan admitted CNN's, er, "arrangement" with Saddam Hussein, it was tantamount to confirming that they have a similar deal with Fidel Castro.

Be assured that anything coming out of CNN's Havana bureau is nothing more than Castro-approved propaganda.

Why, oh why, don't they see what all this "lying for dictators" is doing to their credibility. It's so damn obvious, yet they live in denial. Like all good little liberals...

"Not only has she [Judy Woodruff] been in deep mourning for the Clinton years, but she can not mention anything in regards to the Bush Administration without a look of great trepidation."

Judy has been suffering acute constipation since January 25, 2000.

CNN must really be desperate: last night, they had on Chistianne Imanolwhore, all tarted up. First, it was Judy Woodruff, now Christianne.

I don't recall seeing her during the war...where was she?

I think they're grooming Chistianne to take over Larry King's slot. The term "Larry King Live" is very misleading and can't be proven.

Paul,

I just talked to a Catholic military priest who returned from Iraq last week.

He said: "If the troops could ever get to a satellite that fed a TV, everyone watched FOX--no one watches CNN."

I get the feeling that they are grooming their personnel and audience to move to another country like France or Canada to be a true world net not an American one.

CNN is &%#* !!

Well, let me add my 2 cents worth then !

Here is a link to the SF-IMC site where these FAR LEFT LIBERALS posted an actual pic (below) of one of their Support Saddam/Terrorists events recently and changed the image when I posted/linked it to an FR thread. The pic at the top of that link of 2 Allied Soldiers transporting a prisoner to Gitmo was what they changed it to . . .

These folks at San Francisco Indy-Media are terrorist supporters . . .

Oh, the lurkers on FR from SF-IMC CANNOT change that picture (above) now since it is hosted by FR friendly sources !

Mark Steyn: Those at the back cry 'Forward!'

Excerpt:

As I understand it, the British Labour Party is divided between those in favour of war with Iraq and those opposed to it. In the US Democratic Party, it's more complicated:.

Faction A is anti-war but trying hard not to have to say so between now and election day in November.

Faction B was pro-war when it was Bill Clinton in charge but anti-war now there's a Republican rallying the troops.

Faction C can go either way but huffily insists that to ask them to express an opinion would be to "politicise" the war.

Faction D can't quite figure which position alienates least of their supporters and so articulates a whole all-you-can-eat salad bar of conflicting positions and then, in a weird postmodern touch, ostentatiously agonises over the "inherent risks" in each of them.

Faction E thinks the priority right now should be to sit around holding inquiries into why the administration failed to act on what it knew about al-Qa'eda before they killed thousands of Americans. To act on what we know about Saddam before he kills thousands of Americans would be an unnecessary distraction from the important work of investigating why we didn't act last time round.

Taken as a whole, the 50 Democratic senators' current positions on Iraq forms the all-time record multiple-contortionist pretzel display. But a week ago they showed signs of finally remembering the First Rule of Holes: when you're in one, stop digging. Instead of talking about why they don't want to talk about Iraq, they correctly figured that the easiest thing would be to give Bush some qualified, perfunctory support and hastily change the subject to something more favourable, such as the allegedly collapsing economy.

But then Al Gore rose from the dead......

< snip >

Five weeks till election day and the Democratic Party's doing a dandy impression of one of those incompetent suicide bombers who accidentally self-detonates before he gets on the bus.

Hehe... they still have the "shoot the officer" tag on their new leading pic.

If it were not for Jim R. and a few select FReepers choosing to remain in the land of nuts, flakes, and fruits, it would be SOOOOO NICE to allow Mexico to annex Kalifornica.

You know, where you see the dragon holding a microphone to her midsection and then the scene cuts to the evil Lord Farquar in the dragon's belly, holding a candle and singing "Stayin' alive, stayin' alive"?

That's strange....I've seen that film many times on cable and I do not recall that scene...nor does DH...

Thank you, Kurdistani. I think you have hit it right on the head:

Why are people already forgetting that THEY LIED FOR SADDAM HUSSEIN? They admitted this.

It is unethical, but that is not the outrage in my mind. The outrage is that they lied to protect a brutal dictator (much as they're still doing with Castro), not because they wanted access, but because IT FITS THEIR AGENDA!!! CNN trying to protect Saddam Hussein should be the story of the year, we can't let this one go.
