[history]
Laci Peterson's unborn child was found with one-and-a-half loops of plastic tape wrapped around his neck and a large cut on his body, believed to have come from a knife or some sort of sharp object, an investigation source told Fox News.

That they can't tell if her son was born or not and can't decide whether it should be called a "fetus" or a "baby" should be telling us something...

I'd go with the theory that the tape is simply debris. I don't know about the "knife wound on Laci and now the baby".
Hmmm....

During the murder might Scott (or whoever) have stabbed Laci so deep that it penetrated Connor in womb too? Shriekingly shocking. Where'd the knife go... bottom of bay?

This twist is the pro-aborts trying to put a stop to the pro-life benefits from the unborn being recognized as a life.
To: Zavien Doombringer
That was my response as well.
To: Mihalis
Not enough here to tell. For instance, what does "tape" mean. If it means something like duct tape or wrapping tape, and it was tightly wrapped and stuck to itself, then I don't see how that could have possibly happened while the baby was drifting around under water. If it was loosely festooned around the neck, then it's possible.
Presumably the prosecutors have turned the factual material over to the defense but have their own theories which they will keep to themselves until the trial.

As I said, Geraldo said it was nylon and twine, loosely around the neck.
And in the report, the cut was described as a "tear."

While this is all very tragic, I find it odd that they refer to the unborn child in this story by his "presumed" name, "Conner." One would think that the reporter would at least mention that "Conner" would have been the birth name given to the baby, according to family friends, acquaintances, etc.

If the baby was born before going into the water then there would be air in the lungs due to breathing.

If the baby was born before going into the water then there would be air in the lungs due to breathing. If you can look at a corpse and not tell me if it is a baby or a fetus, I simply suggest that there isn't a whole lot of difference and the whole "we must call it a fetus" is yet another element of the pro-choice assault on plain English and common sense.

Isn't it possible that if Laci was stabbed, either with a large knife or by someone who had the strength to plunge a knife deep enough, that it could have also cut the baby?

Geraldo said it was nylon and twine. I sure hope it's debris. No one has mentioned anything about the baby's umbilical cord, and whether it was attached. Unless I missed it. Poor sweet baby...

Pro abortion advocates would do well to stay away from this case. Using this tragedy to further an agenda, will backfire big time. Really, it's digusting to even think about it.

The defense is trying to spin this as a boost to its theory that a satanic cult did the gruesome deed. After all, they opine, only cultists under the spell of Satan could carry out such a vicious act.
Few little problems though. Peterson's team better hope and pray (to Satan perhaps?) that the tape around the child's neck cannot be traced to Scott. And if they expect a jury to believe that satanic ritual was involved in the killing, they better be able to find an expert who can show the jury a documented satanic ritual that includes the ritual killing of a pregnant woman and her child.

An unborn child is a "fetus", by definition, a "baby" is a child which has been born, by definition. Thus the indecision you note in the second part of your post is identical to the indecision described in the first part.

Yes it is possible. I remember seeing my babies kicking and stretching while I was pregnant. My stomach would bulge because they were kicking or pushing with their hands. Being short-waisted, I had to walk around with my arms up in the air at times so my son wouldn't take out my lower ribs :) There isn't much between an 8 month old baby and the outside world. The uterus is stretched pretty thin at that stage. Unfortunately it is quite possible to kill an unborn child with a knife.

Breathless Rita Cosby's 'special sauces' say that Connor was stabbed in the chest/upper shoulder.
Correpond that location in Laci's womb via sonnagram with doctors records and I'll bet it will very likely be in a place where she could have died from an accidental kitchen stab wound due to loss of blood.
Connor probably didnt die right away as a result..

Perhaps this is a ploy by the defense to skew the facts and muddy the waeter ... but with the high level and variations or versions of Santaria and other forms of Satanism in thise state (CA) wherein even wierd deaths vanish under a cloud of secrecy, I cannot throw out this defense theory.

Yeah, I was wondering about the umbilical cord. The placenta would probably deteriorate, but the umbilical cord is part of the baby. The new report about Connor seems consistent with how far along Laci was. Isn't it 42 weeks for the typical gestation period?
I should know better, but the thought that someone could do away with their own child like that really makes me ill. That is of course if Scott did it. I'm leaning strongly towards the guilty side.

"I had to walk around with my arms up in the air at times so my son wouldn't take out my lower ribs :) "
Been there, done that. My youngest weighed 9 lbs. 5 ozs. and I had horrible heartburn during my whole pregnancy. He ended up being 3 weeks late and I ended up with gas trapped in my esophogus because he was so big. I thought I was having a heart attack because I had such bad pain in the middle of my chest. We went to the emergency room and the doctor said: "Honey, you ain't getting rid of that gas until you get rid of that baby!" He sent me off with bottles of Gelusil which briefly helped. Later that night I was back in the hospital because my water had broke. 32 years later, the heartburn never left. I've been living on medication for acid reflux. So many of us women who gave birth suffer from this due to damage done to the sphincter muscle that covers the esophogus.

Common sense tells us that the tape must be debris....all accounts of Connor's body say that he was in very good condition, not someone being at the bottom of the bay for 4 months...

Again:
ABC News learned today that tape was found around the neck of Laci Peterson's baby Conner, as well as around Laci's torso. NBC reports that this was plastic tape, wrapped 1 1/2 times around Conner's neck like a noose, and that a section of his chest was cut out. This seems to support the prosecution claim that the crime was actually a double murder, but it also supports the defense claim that Scott Peterson was not involved and this could have been the work of a satanic cult.
Neither of these reports has been officially confirmed, or is likely to be (press release from Stanislaus County District Attorney James Brazelton).

First of all, Geraldo said it was nylon and twine; and none of the cables are saying anything about something "cut out" of the baby; most just say it's a tear.
As for the "noose," that's what Dan Abrams called it; that is NOT in the official report.
