Prayer Request for FReeper MyFavoriteHeadache

Doug "MyFavorteHeadache" Maher called me from the hospital tonight. He was experiencing back and chest pain today and decided to have it checked out.... turns out that he has a blood clot in his lung that could possibly move to his heart. They have him all tubed up with all kinds of drugs and blood thinners, and he's understandably a bit shook up as this is the same affliction that killed his dad at the age of 37. He'll probably be on blood thinners for he rest of his life.

For those who don't know Doug, he's a great guy all around. We're in a local organization together but our activism goes back several years.

The above pic (that's Doug on the left about to shove his sign up the stinky Rat's a$$) was taken in West Palm during the near riots of the 2000 elections, when we (and several other FReepers) nearly had our heads handed to us by angry Rats. This photo wound up on the front page of the NY Times, NY post, Stars and Stripes just to name a few. It was also featured on a 2 page spread in USA Today and was in numerous papers around the world. I happend to pull this one off the Chandigarth Tribune in India, where it's still up to this day.

As I said, Doug is a great guy and an A+ American. Say a prayer for him, even though I know God is going to take good care of him.

I "met" Doug trolling the Rush newgroups. Get well soon, Doug. My dad had this exact same thing last year and he's fine. You sure don't want to die before the Rush DVD comes out. :-)

Doug is a good man . The 1st time I met him and several FReepers was a gig in Boca put together by Gene .

Doug . You may have to change your lifestyle again but it will be worth it brother . You have good to give to others . You both do .

Hey, haven't posted on FR in awhile, but thought I would pass this along. On the phone with Doug now. He really appreciates all the concern, and of course the prayers from all the Freepers out there. The recovery is on the way, and just keep him on your prayer list for sure. For you south FL freepers, he is in the Naples Community Hospital, room 411. Anyways, I'll try to keep an update going. Thanks one and all.

Just found this thread and was sorry to hear that one of us was having problems -----but am delighted that all is coming along!

How smart he was to act on his chest/back pain immediately!

I guess his problem, now, is the ringing in his ears --- but that is just all his FreeperFriends praying for him and keeping him in their thoughts. I wish him well, and he is now on my official prayer list.

I went to see Doug yesterday. He's doing well and may get out today. Sure he may have to take blood thinners and is not allowed to fly, but he's still with us and in good spirits. Hehe. MOST EXCELLENT.

I attended one of the most beautiful masses ever, just before seeing Doug. When God reveals himself it's often at the most unexpected times, but it is truly AWESOME.
