Hillary bedeviled by protesters
The Hill--"The Newspaper for and about the US Congress" ^ | 7/2/03 | Bill Thomas

Posted on 07/02/2003 9:08:04 AM PDT by DPB101

Protesters have become a regular feature at book signings by Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), but so far, according to Clinton's publisher, Simon & Schuster, they haven't hurt sales.

Now Clinton may have another problem that could: conservative blonde nemesis Ann Coulter and her new bestseller, Treason.

Living History, Clinton's book, continues to do a brisk business, yet by the beginning of the week Coulter's anti-liberal tome had buried it on Amazon's nonfiction bestseller list. Treason started the week in the No. 1 spot, while Living History had fallen out of the top 10.

Unfazed, Clinton has kept a heavy schedule of appearances. By her estimate, she's signed 10,000 copies of her memoirs.

"I try to look at people," she told Newsday. "I give [them] five or six or seven seconds to say something. Some are tongue-tied, some have a whole speech prepared, some give me letters."

Considering the number of protesters she attracts, Clinton said, she's surprised she hasn't received more negative comments at book signings. For security reasons Simon & Schuster has never posted her appearances on its website.

"One man in a devil's costume . . .has been following me for three years," Clinton said.

The devil didn‚t show a week ago when she signed books at a store in Huntington, N.Y., but there was a guy dressed in desert fatigues and a Hillary mask calling himself "Rodham Hussein."

'I try to look at people,' she told Newsday."

Think about this. What does she mean she TRIES to look at people? I mean, do you have to TRY to look at people? Gads this woman is egotistical!

"but it usually is with another book that is related to the subject"

Well, they ARE related....kinda. Both deal with fantasy and witches and evil forces.

"My suggestion, buy from Amazon."

I understand that Amazon now refuses to advertise with Rush since the liberals got all up in arms. Somebody posted a link to a letter from Amazon on a thread the other day...can't recall which one right off hand, stating that.

"Why is Hillary's at the top of the NYT Best Seller's List and Coulter isn't in the top five?"

On Hannity and Colmes tonight they were saying that Hillary's was #1 (hey, its the NYT) and Ann's was #2. I'm quite sure Ann will overtake Hillary, in spite of the hype, much to the consternation of the Times no doubt.

Hey Doc, where'd you find the Saddam mask when you did Baghdad Bob. We're thinking about doing Baghdad Bob along with Monica and the devil, and maybe Bill for the Hillary FReeps. So far no mask though.

The devil is with her no matter where she is.

You know, we joke about this all the time. The two of them sold their souls to Old Nick.

I'm a secular kinda guy. Not the sort who even thinks of going to church on Sunday or any other day. I would like to believe in angels and devils and I often tell others I do believe in them but I really don't.

However, I do have morals and basic beliefs. One of those is that people do reap their just rewards. Maybe not in the way I would like them to be punished, but there is justice in the world which gets back to us all. It is as powerful a force as the force of gravity. You stomp on everyone to get to the top and your kids turn out to be heroin addicts. Or something. The universe is not irrational. There is a quid pro quo.

I don't see it with the Clinton's. The more evil they do, the more they are rewarded.

I submit the proposition that Satan, not just evil (we all know evil exists) is a real force which resides in Bill and Hillary Clinton. The adulation the two of them receive, the success for doing absolutely nothing, the hurt they have caused all associated with them is unmatched in recent history.

The eyes give it away too. Look at Hillary's eyes. Weird stuff going on in that head. Satanic stuff.

From time immorial, mankind has claimed the existance of evil/good, dark/light, some version of incipient evil embodied in some supernatural thing/person and its reverse of good. Cosmic conciousness ? Some other crazy name/s ? Inheritted genetic hot wiring of the brain ? Who knows...not me; however, there most assuredly IS something otherworldly/beyond man's ken, up with the Clinto " successes" !

They've " sold their sould ", " made a pact with the devil ", or anyother variant on this theme! His having to be married to an haprie/shrew and her having to be married to a philandering cad just isn't enough punishment.

"They don't have Hillary's book yet.

That's a real hoot! It wouldn't surprise me if they did that to boost sales. After all, this whole campaign tour is designed to boost sales as well.
hillary can get away with sales tactics that would get anyone else arrested."

Libraries have to buy their books from bookstores/distributors just like you and I. If the library doesn't have Hillary's book, it's because the librarian thinks it's a waste of money to buy something no one will read.

Whenever I see it being sold (usually anywhere from 25 - 40% discount) I will put another author's book on top or in front of it.

Let's say that figure includes up through Huntington. It wouldn't be hard to add up the numbers in the published reports. I'd say that the reports add up to more than her 10,000 figure.

Clintons would rather lie than tell the truth, even when it serves their interests.

And that figure doesn't seem to add in the "pre-signed" books she had inteneded to use on the ENTIRE BOOK TOUR. Her debut event in Manhattan had signs that read "Reception Line" and "LIMITED NUMBER OF PRESIGNED COPIES" they very day she signed books. The "It Takes A Village" tour was "Reception Line" and "Presigned books".

The suckers should be grateful to Curtis Sliwa of WABC radio in New York and Dom Giordano of WPHT in Philadelphia because without their exposing Hillary's game plan, they wouldn't have a real "signature" on their books.

The Pasadena book store did ask if the "presigned" books were "autopenned" or mechanically reproduced signatures. Hillary's people assured them they were not, so we know what that means...... BTW, if you're from DUh-ville and have an autographed "It Takes A Village" but you didn't see it signed, go grab a magnifying glass and look at that page where it meets the book. If you see a fine line of glue, you have a "tip-in". A page signed but glued into the final book. It's a low rent way of doing things, because to serious book collectors, it's not worth as much as the "whole book" being signed by the author.

Best part of this is the article is from "The Hill" which I assume most staffers in Congress read.

Oh to be the email admin at house.gov and senate.gov for just an hour, make that a day. I think it would be that long to count all the emails yesterday that had the phrase "Rodham Hussein" in them.
