**FR Exclusive** KUCINICH SOLICITS FOREIGN MONEY FOR 2004 ON FOREIGN WEBSITE (JAPANESE) [VIOLATION?]
Global Peace Campaign (Japan) Website in Japanese ^ | 28 July 2003 | AmericanInTokyo

(You will need a browser with Japanese font capability, and ability to comprehend written Japanese)

As a FReeper Researcher, I have just come across a JAPANESE organization, based on an overseas JAPANESE website, in JAPANESE, that is encouraging foreigners to contribute money to and assist the "Campaign for American President Dennis Kucinich".

The URL of the activity was located at:

http://www.peace2001.org/

The organization is called "Global Peace Campaign" located in Japan. It is part of an umbrella of socialist and communist organizations opposing US efforts in Iraq, it supports North Korea, and is aligned with the usual communist movements.

The website has the invitation clearly written in Japanese, on the upper left side of the page, along with a link to the Kucinich campaign in the US, and a photo of the candidate. The organizers specifically solicit 500 Kucinich campaign contributors in Japan as a goal. Below are the comments in Japanese, translated by myself.

Dear Washington Times, reading this thread:

By now you are on to this FR thread about Kucinich and fund raising in Japan for his campaign. This is not some crackpot, deadend ambulance chasing exercise. Take it from me, the Japanese language website(s) shows specific ways to contribute to the Kucinich Presidential campaign (and even is cognizant and admits that foreigners = Japanese cannot legally do it), but a way is suggested to help Mr. Kucinich by forwarding the proceeds of his book sales in Japan to his campaign coffers, and thereby being able to 'elect a Peace President in America" even from Japan. A Japanese postal system bank account number for money transfer is specifically offered and others have reported in as to how their sales are proceeding.

Please obtain a fluent Japanese speaker to sit with you at the computer and review those websites so that you can indeed see that this story has substance.

My guess is the news outlets and RNC probably aren't going to care because: 1) It's too much trouble to figure out (arcane election laws, web sites in Japanese, etc ... it'd require too much time invested for too little reward, in their minds) and 2) It's Kucinich we're talking about, who has about as much chance of getting the Democratic nomination as you or I do.

In short, we're probably going to have to file real complaints with the FEC if we want to see this properly investigated.

I will put in one more call to Fox News, but after that I have real work to do and will have to drop out of this thread. Good luck all.

I was a little shocked to see that California is out-contributing Ohio (his home state) by 10-to-1 for his Presidential bid. Lots of celebrities on the contribution roll, but I didn't see anything "declared" that looked suspicious, beyond the heavy weight given California contributions.

Not necessarity. Please everyone bark up as many trees as you can.

But I've sent it up through Homeland Security already. I sent it through the Major General who specializes in Asia. So, I'll assume Japanese characters shouldn't (better not be) an issue for him.

But the more ways we all get the info out...the less ways it can be squashed.

All--

Believe it or not, nobody is answering at Fox News Washington. I have to go; here are the numbers if someone else wants to try. I suggest asking for a producer on Brit Hume's show (don't ask for Brit himself, they'll just think you're a crank) and simply inform them of this thread, particularly AmericanInTokyo's posts, of course, especially the data in post 141. Be sure to point out the fact that there is a SPECIAL BANK ACCOUNT set up to funnel/launder this "book sales" money so that it can be donated to the Kucinich campaign.

Please post in this thread whatever response you get from Fox.

Various Fox News Washington numbers (all area code 202):

Perhaps that is true for the RNC, but not for others. Tracking the Bhuddist money and Lippo, etc., took Asian language skills and saavy, and with enthusiasm they came up with some good stuff. How can Kucinich call GW Bush to task on lying and scandal when his OWN campaign has this going on. It's all connected, we should track all leads till they end.

At any rate, came up with info on the folks who run the company that runs the website: Inter.net Japan Ltd., Curt D. Bowman is one director, David Browning is another one. George Fogus is their auditor. Their banks are Mizuho, Asahi, Mitsui, and Tokyo Mitsubishi.

thanks. if you drop out (from the thread), say, how about a freepmail rather than something said that might discourage anyone else perhaps new to the discussion from helping and pushing it further. i think the other freeper backed out too just now. i know everyone is busy, but writing like in the open may help kill a thread and I for one think this is big or could be big. thanks for your help so far.... hope my comments are understood...just wanted to say that :-)

The Japanese page in Yellow with black text and a bunch of URL links? Yes, I have been reading that for quite some time today. That is the one website with damaging information, but there is another one that has even more smoke, IMHO.

Understood. I didn't mean to imply I was giving up, just that I have actual personal business to attend to and have to go, for now anyway. I'll check back in a few hours.
