For non-Texans, a lawsuit was filed in Houston to remove a bible from a memorial display at the Houston Civil courthouse. There is little doubt that it is a coordinated effort by the left to pile on the recent 10 Commandments case down in Alabama.

Outside, in, or on, no difference to my mind. If it's good enough for the SCOTUS...

There's a problem here, though---what if a Wican, say, wanted to put whatever they call a religious article there--or a Satanist, or any other religion? Then what would we do?

No, only symbols that condemn Christians and the morality they stand for should be displayed at government buildings....
To: anymouse
Nope. This is Amerika. Religious people are mentally insane. We must remove all traces of mental insanity. /sarcasm

I see your point about the Wiccans, but so what if they do want to put something up? Beats having any and every mention of religion, anyone's religion, banished from the public eye.

This country wasn't founded on Wiccan beliefs, or Satanist beliefs, or Islamic beliefs -- it was founded on Christian/Judeo beliefs.
That's why we don't want Wiccan, Satanist, or Islamic shrines in the public square.

If the Pope stood in the Alabama courthouse, would it be allowable for a Roman Catholic public official to bow down and kiss the pope's hand? Just thought I'd ask.

Define a religious symbol.I consider a crucifix or the Star of David as one maybe but the bible IMHO is not about Religion. It is more of a history book that tells the story of many races in different times.

Call the ACLU so that they will file a suit to stop them.
In reality, the ACLU would never file against other religious groups, especially not Satanists. "My enemy's enemy is my friend."

Beats having any and every mention of religion, anyone's religion, banished from the public eye.I must have missed something. Who is doing that?
I guess it must depend on the definition of the "public eye".

Didn't they used to put the stake in the village square ?
I would say "don't flame me" but the pun would be totally inexcusable ;-)
And yes the whole point of this post was a lame pun.........
