FReeper ahadams2 died Friday afternoon, 9/3/2004 of a heart attack. May God rest his soul in peace. Thank you FReepers for your prayers.
He was a better friend to us, keeping us abreast of all the developments in the Episcopal Church crisis, and keeping our spirits up.
I told him once or twice how much I appreciated the pings, even if I didn't always reply. Very glad now that I did that.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Grant to the departed eternal rest; let light perpetual shine upon them.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing." 2 Timothy 4: 7 & 8.
I have also found one of the readings from All Saints' Day, Ecclesiasticus 44: 1-15 ("Let us now praise famous men ...") applies to good men like Arlin.
I will have his honorable name placed on my parish prayer list.
I'm sorry for your sudden loss. May God ease your burden in the difficult time.
I will miss the loyalty and dedication ahadams2 displayed to our Lord Jesus here on this board until I finally meet him in paradise and we sing praises together. May God comfort you and your family.
I'm so sorry for your lose.
I'm sorry I can't type anymore right now.
Mrs. Adams,
I am so dreadfully sorry to hear this. Arlin has kept our spirits up here, kept us informed on church matters, always with good humor and grace. He will be sorely missed.
My family and I will be offering our most sincere prayers on his behalf and yours. I am certain from our fairly extensive correspondence that he was a man of strong and lively faith, and he is indeed with the Lord. May Christ, the Saints, and the angels comfort you in your loss.
When you have time, please let us know if there is any memorial to which we could send contributions in his name.
My condolances to you and your family, Mrs. Adams. May God comfort you and yours during this difficult time.
Prayers and condolences.
Thank you for posting this to the forum. Over the past year, your husband did a remarkable job of defending his faith and advising others of the reactions following the election of the openly gay bishop. May our Lord welcome him into His kingdom with open arms.
Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, make me holy
Body of Christ, be my salvation
Blood of Christ, let me drink your wine
Water flowing from the side of Christ, wash me clean
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
Kind Jesus, hear my prayer
Hide me within your wounds
And keep me close to you
Defend me from the evil enemy
And call me at the hour of my death
To the fellowship of your saints
That I might sing your praise with them
for all eternity, Amen.
we will put him on the Anglican Prayer list here in Dallas. God blessed the Free Republic with his devotion to His work and how Arlin shared it with other men and women who are devoted to the Lord and the Anglican tradition.
Please accept my condolences.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

This really saddens me.
I have gotten to know Arlin since the Gay Bishop fiasco. We have exchanged many interesting and private freep mails about local church news in your areas, other areas and mine.
Arlin did a fantastic job! We will miss his hard work and dedication in getting the real news out to us.
May the Good Lord hold you and your family in his arms as you go forth.
Peace!
