Bishop Skylstad was elected with 52% to be chair of the USCCB. Cardinal George finished second.
Are you serious?
Or so they tell us. Do you know who else was running?
He was nominated from the floor (which is highly irregular) by some Bishop whose name starts with a "K." The two guys who were to replace George originally were relatively Orthodox, hence a power grab by the Old Guard who unfortunately still have quite a following. When will we be rid of these bad bishops (and sadly, they aren't holy good bishops like Thomas a Beckett).
Agreed. Though that observation was made over 20 years ago, when JPII was made Pope. Also observed at that time was that a majority of the US Bishops were in material heresy.
Time has not improved the situation. Many souls have been lost
Strap in everyone - we're going down.
That's a bad paraphrase of the famous line by Bette Davis........but quite apt!
Now please do tell me: exactly what is this CCT.......and who (or what) else belongs to it? This does not bode well.
Are you watching Raymond Arroyo's reporting of the Conference? It's really good. On EWTN every morning at nine a.m., and again at 9 p.m.
I love Raymond! He is the only talking head on TV who, after asking a question, gives his guest ample, uninterrupted time to answer. Ray is such a gentleman!
This morning he and a guest were discussing two MAJOR items tabled by the Bishops. One was about mandatory reports on any charges against a priest or seminarian that MUST be sent to the next assigned parish or seminary. Can you believe they are NOT doing this yet? Also recommended background checks on foreign priests (17% of our parish priests.) You would think this was being done already, just for security reasons.
The bishops just batted their eyelashes on this one, put hand to brow, and breathlessly uttered, like fair Scarlett, "I can't think about that today. I'll think about it tomorrow."
I will try to find links to Ray's interviews online.
sara, thanks for the inside info on Skylstad.
It's a disgrace that he was elected president.
Before I spend more time fuming, and I am fuming,I am hoping to find out who nominated Trautman. Then I think that there are many suspect activities surrounding the electronic balloting and the complement of bishops who can vote on certain issues.
The fact that the exbishop of Phoenix, attended makes me very suspicious. Was he allowed to vote? Certainly he should not have been able to cast a ballot, but his history as a known dissembler and protector of homosexuals leads me to believe that he probably commanderred some machine and cast a ballot for the old guard. Can anyone help with some answers? Thanks.
Fire all the unfaithful bishops--80+% IMO. 1 week to get the hell off Church property you traitors!
Elevate real men w spine to the episcopacy. There are plenty, Fr. John Corapi comes to mind as an example. Fr. Corapi is former Green Beret, Nam era. Take no prisoners.
Excommunicate all Pro-Abort Pols and public abortion supporters.
Fumigate the seminaries and remove all the filthy sodomites at all levels within the hierarchy. Remove all pedophiles and help the law burry them, same for all bishops who ever covered up. Life in prison with hard labor; make em suffer.
Strict and common sense admissions policy (NO HOMOS) with strong defenders in charge.
Give 1 week to all who should take that oath of fidelity (?) the Pope ask for a decade ago. Fire all who do not comply by the 8th day.
Restore Tradition and scrap the heresies. Fire all who do not comply.
Institute MANDATORY Pro-Life education and authentic Catechism in all Catholic Schools, CCD; RCIA; AND Universities, etc. with testing. Fire all who do not comply.
That ought to take care of the big problems.
This is not a rant.
And that's just for starters. ;-)
But these conferences were called for by Vatican II. Are you saying to scrap Vatican II? If not, aren't you only dealing with the symptoms of the disease and not the cause?
Restore Tradition and scrap the heresies. Fire all who do not comply.
This was the same problem the mice faced: "Who is going to bell the cat?" Or in this case, "Who is going to fire the pope." Ultimately, that is where the buck stops on every one of these issues.
Your agenda sounds good to me!
I would think the bishop who nominated Trautperson did it as a pre agreed upon action, with the full knowledge of more than a few bishops - you can pick out which ones would not want Vigneron or Burke in charge of the Liturgy committee. I wonder if the bishops got the message when the voting apparatus went haywire for that couple of minutes? Ya, right!
There are eleven bishop/cardinal's who have last names starting with K. I am going to eliminate the cardinal, the one who works under George in Chicago, the one from the Byzantine Rite, and the one from the Military Chaplaincy.
Ths leaves seven. Of those seven,Kelly from Louisville and Kicanes from Tucson are known Amchurchians. So there are five left.
I woould not be surprised if it were Kelaher,Kinney or Kiner. I would be surprised if it were Kurtz or Kettler. So I will wait until I get information from my friend on what the tapes show and then let you know. I think somebody could make a fortune on a board game based on the happenings in the Church.
Gusess what, the culprit who nominated Troutperson was Kinney from St. Cloud. One of three that I said I would not be surprised about. Thank goodness it was not one of the two I hold hope for.Kinney was vetted and approved by the secret society team of Jadot and Baggio in 1976. His Installatiion Mass was celebrated by the reprehensible Roach from Minneapolis/St Paul. He worked as an auxilliary under him for about 6 years at which time he was moved to the diocese of Bismarck as bishop. He was probably cute and was 39 when he became a bishop.(wink-wink)
Even better my source tells me the goofs who seconded the nomination were Pellotte, the lying piece of dirt from Gallup, and Wilkerson and Salazar (both auxiliaries for Mahoney),Blaire from Stockton,I believe, although there is a Blaire from Toledo too. The fifth one's name was indistinct. Seems we see the fine hand of the Superforce's prime mover Mahoney. I know Pellotte travelled with him to Rome for the "ad limina" visit and told bald face lies upon his return.
You know this is turning out to be most interesting. Picking up rocks and watching the snakes slither out is not all bad.
Two statements that John Paul II made, back long ago come to mind;"We must smother error with Truth",and "Nothing done in secret should remain hidden." I've alwaystaken both those statements as kind of marching orders from the Pope. Too bad the bishops didn't,would have saved lots of heartbreak. On the other hand maybe it would have resulted in just a partial cleaning rather than a thorough "look under every rock" sweep.
All things work together for good for those who love God."
He is out in western MA. in East Longmeadow and he is already suffering for his correct positions.
