You're speaking..One just can't debate on a prayer thread..I want to be there when you interrupt a prayer in your church because you don't agree with it. As for a Christian basis to pray for Obama. I am not there yet but I am working up to praying for him to change..for the good of our nation. I can pray for God's guidance for him. Matthew 5:44

So says Lisa........ #21. I believe she previously posted under the name Lisa Malia.

Yes, I did. Feel free to check out any of my posts, they're all archived. During the time I've been posting on here, I campaigned for Pres. Bush, and I met another well know FReeper Common Tator, who became the love of my life. I also posted about my Daddy's illness and subsequent death.

Almost 2 years ago, I moved to Columbus, Ohio....changed internet providers, and did not know my password.

I had no choice other than pick a different name.

Ironic, that my middle name that I've always loved (my mom and older sister named me, I think after one of Bing Crosby's daughters), and my granddaughter's middle name, is the same as one of Obama's daughter's. I don't hold any ill will towards her, she's just a child.

All that said, I can take all the criticism thrown at me. Maybe I have fallen from grace, but I would no more include Obama in my prayers as I would any other that I thought would do harm to our great country.

When I pray, I don't include terrorists, or those who are their co-horts. So, say what you will about me, but I stand by my opinion. If I am wrong, I will answer to a higher power than any of you someday.

I have no desire to go into a prayer room and start trouble, I just have a problem, considering what we may be up against during this administration, that ANY thread on this website would be labeled, "no debate allowed".

ahem..testing...testing...1,2,3

“Freedom of speech” is a Constitutional restriction placed on the Federal government...not a private web site.

Folks praying for Obama, the man who will be the downfall of our country, but on THIS WEBSITE, our voices are surpressed.

Maybe you should start your own website.

Except for a few notable exceptions, the most heated debates on FR are on the religion forum, you will NEVER have a problem finding one. However, most of us who participate in these debates are also mature enough to respect prayer and “closed” threads.

If you are interested in a heated debate, post a thread with a title like, “Biblical Proof that [insert name of denomination/confession you disagree with] is Heretical.” I promise that you will get all the debate you want.

It’s a stroke of Holy Spirit genius through the current RM that has made the religion forum a much healthier and far, far more productive-to-Christ’s-body part of FR than it has ever been before.

I suggest you get used to the wonderful improvements and cooperate with them or stay out of the religion forum. THIS SETUP IS FAR, FAR, FAR BETTER.

I couldn't agree more.

After Zero is sworn in, the prayers in our church for our leaders will include him and mention him by name and that he is our president.

I will not act like some of the liberals in our church did when GW was first included in our prayers. Some of these people and I had some stern discussions after church re their inappropriate behavior and responses when GW was added to our leader prayer list.

In fact I pray that Obama like Saul will be touched and guided by God during his presidency.

It’s not as if it’s difficult to find a heated debate on the religion forum, but the thought of someone disrupting a prayer or caucus thread is repulsive to me.

Looks like you are blowing your horn pretty loud on this thread. Perhaps lessons in expressing your opinion without being an obnoxious individual would be appropriate.

I think you miss the point of that prayer thread(perhaps intentionally.) Wether or not you believe it, the people on that thread believe God can work mighty deeds if he so chooses. They care more about this country than the d or r after the name of the president. Allow them their beliefs and move on to another thread.

To: Salvation

Salvation, Jesus said we must pray for our enemies, and by their fruits we would know them. Obama’s fruits are pretty rotten, so we are praying that he would be converted and come to know Jesus as his savior. If he is converted, he will reverse his stance on abortion, among other things. Praying for someone is one of the seven Spiritual Works of Mercy. Surely you haven’t forgotten that?

There are rules in the religion forum that limit what can be debated there. If you have to debate it, start a thread in chat.

What's the big deal? Why all the drama?
