Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem~Songs of Praise

Psalms Chapter 40
תְּהִלִּים א לַמְנַצֵּחַ, לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר. 1
For the Leader. A Psalm of David.
ב קַוֹּה קִוִּיתִי יְהוָה; וַיֵּט אֵלַי, וַיִּשְׁמַע שַׁוְעָתִי. 2
I waited patiently for the LORD;
and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
ג וַיַּעֲלֵנִי, מִבּוֹר שָׁאוֹן-- מִטִּיט הַיָּוֵן: וַיָּקֶם עַל-סֶלַע רַגְלַי; כּוֹנֵן אֲשֻׁרָי. 3
He brought me up also out of the tumultuous pit,
out of the miry clay;
and He set my feet upon a rock,
He established my goings.
ד וַיִּתֵּן בְּפִי, שִׁיר חָדָשׁ-- תְּהִלָּה לֵאלֹהֵינוּ: יִרְאוּ רַבִּים וְיִירָאוּ; וְיִבְטְחוּ, בַּיהוָה. 4
And He hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God;
many shall see, and fear,
and shall trust in the LORD.
ה אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר-- אֲשֶׁר-שָׂם יְהוָה, מִבְטַחוֹ; וְלֹא-פָנָה אֶל-רְהָבִים, וְשָׂטֵי כָזָב. 5
Happy is the man that hath made the LORD his trust,
and hath not turned unto the arrogant,
nor unto such as fall away treacherously.
ו רַבּוֹת עָשִׂיתָ, אַתָּה יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי-- נִפְלְאֹתֶיךָ וּמַחְשְׁבֹתֶיךָ, אֵלֵינוּ: אֵין, עֲרֹךְ אֵלֶיךָ--אַגִּידָה וַאֲדַבֵּרָה; עָצְמוּ, מִסַּפֵּר. 6
Many things hast Thou done, O LORD my God,
even Thy wonderful works,
and Thy thoughts toward us;
there is none to be compared unto Thee!
If I would declare and speak of them,
they are more than can be told.
ז זֶבַח וּמִנְחָה, לֹא-חָפַצְתָּ-- אָזְנַיִם, כָּרִיתָ לִּי; עוֹלָה וַחֲטָאָה, לֹא שָׁאָלְתָּ. 7
Sacrifice and meal-offering Thou hast no delight in;
mine ears hast Thou opened;
burnt-offering and sin-offering hast Thou not required.
ח אָז אָמַרְתִּי, הִנֵּה-בָאתִי: בִּמְגִלַּת-סֵפֶר, כָּתוּב עָלָי. 8
Then said I:
'Lo, I am come with the roll of a book which is prescribed for me;
ט לַעֲשׂוֹת-רְצוֹנְךָ אֱלֹהַי חָפָצְתִּי; וְתוֹרָתְךָ, בְּתוֹךְ מֵעָי. 9 I delight to do Thy will, O my God; yea,
Thy law is in my inmost parts.'
י בִּשַּׂרְתִּי צֶדֶק, בְּקָהָל רָב-- הִנֵּה שְׂפָתַי, לֹא אֶכְלָא: יְהוָה, אַתָּה יָדָעְתָּ. 10
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation, lo,
I did not refrain my lips;
O LORD, Thou knowest.
יא צִדְקָתְךָ לֹא-כִסִּיתִי, בְּתוֹךְ לִבִּי-- אֱמוּנָתְךָ וּתְשׁוּעָתְךָ אָמָרְתִּי; לֹא-כִחַדְתִּי חַסְדְּךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ, לְקָהָל רָב. 11
I have not hid Thy righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation;
I have not concealed Thy mercy and Thy truth from the great congregation.
יב אַתָּה יְהוָה-- לֹא-תִכְלָא רַחֲמֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי; חַסְדְּךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ, תָּמִיד יִצְּרוּנִי. 12
Thou, O LORD, wilt not withhold Thy compassions from me;
let Thy mercy and Thy truth continually preserve me.
יג כִּי אָפְפוּ-עָלַי רָעוֹת, עַד-אֵין מִסְפָּר-- הִשִּׂיגוּנִי עֲו‍ֹנֹתַי, וְלֹא-יָכֹלְתִּי לִרְאוֹת; עָצְמוּ מִשַּׂעֲרוֹת רֹאשִׁי, וְלִבִּי עֲזָבָנִי. 13
For innumerable evils have compassed me about,
mine iniquities have overtaken me,
so that I am not able to look up;
they are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart hath failed me.
יד רְצֵה יְהוָה, לְהַצִּילֵנִי; יְהוָה, לְעֶזְרָתִי חוּשָׁה. 14
Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me;
O LORD,
make haste to help me.
טו יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיַחְפְּרוּ, יַחַד-- מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי, לִסְפּוֹתָהּ: יִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר, וְיִכָּלְמוּ-- חֲפֵצֵי, רָעָתִי. 15
Let them be ashamed and abashed together that seek after my soul to sweep it away;
let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that delight in my hurt.
טז יָשֹׁמּוּ, עַל-עֵקֶב בָּשְׁתָּם-- הָאֹמְרִים לִי, הֶאָח הֶאָח. 16 Let them be appalled by reason of their shame that say unto me: 'Aha, aha.'
יז יָשִׂישׂוּ וְיִשְׂמְחוּ, בְּךָ-- כָּל-מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ: יֹאמְרוּ תָמִיד, יִגְדַּל יְהוָה-- אֹהֲבֵי, תְּשׁוּעָתֶךָ. 17
Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee;
let such as love Thy salvation say continually:
'The LORD be magnified.'
יח וַאֲנִי, עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן-- אֲדֹנָי יַחֲשָׁב-לִי: עֶזְרָתִי וּמְפַלְטִי אַתָּה; אֱלֹהַי, אַל-תְּאַחַר. 18
But, as for me, that am poor and needy,
the Lord will account it unto me;
Thou art my help and my deliverer; O my God, tarry not.

I attended a Passover Seder last evening.

O LORD, Creator of the universe, Ruler, King, Almighty God, Eternal One, Glory, Honor, Praise, and Songs of Joy are Yours. We love You Father. It has pleased You to bring us into being and draw us to You. Your hand is stretched forth all day long to us. Open our eyes and open our ears that we may see and hear, open our hearts that we may receive wholehearted faith and worship from You to You. We are Your servants. Thank You LORD for Your loving kindness, Your Mercy and Your Love. We are overwhelmed by Your majestic power and yet. You love us! Hosannas! Glory to God in the highest. We pray for Israel, Your hand of protection over Jerusalem and the people therein, bless them with Peace and Wisdom, showing Yourself to them again. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.,

Oh WOW! Lucky YOU!

I used to conduct Seders at Nursing Homes, complete with all the music (little casio keyboard right there at the Table, LOL!)

I would do the Service on One Floor, then pack up all my stuff and do it all over again on the second floor dining room at a Kosher Nursing Home.

Amen, I certainly stand in agreement with that prayer. Also, Isreal, being the jewel of God’s eye, IS protected by God Himself. The more the world turns on her, the more invincible she will become until the time that God deals with Isreal alone. Firstly, However, God will deal with the rest of the world which He is doing now. We, who know Him, must be ready to meet Him. CO

Yes. I played the organ for the cantor for the High Holy Days as well.

Mr. L. and I had a Wonderful Relationship doing these Special Services.

We also did Prayers for the Troops, as Mr. L., The Cantor, had a son in Operation Desert Storm.

Those were the days.
