And yet still not the means of salvation.
The thief on the cross almost certainly did not understand doctrine. Little children do not understand doctrine, and yet Jesus says we should be like them (in the sense of trusting Him) if we want to enter the Kingdom of God. (Matt. 18)
Don't misunderstand: doctrine is a good and necessary thing. It's that body of principles and beliefs by which we can maintain a consistent understanding of what the Gospels say, and for churches to maintain a consistent body of teaching.
Even so, doctrine is not fixed, even among bodies of people that we both would agree are Christians. One expects this, as doctrine is the work of men, trying to make sense of what the Gospels are all about.
Here is a link to lds.org, (the official site of Mormonism on the internet) concerning Temple ordinances. This link will spell out what Mormons belief about what it takes to partake of the blessings associated with the atonement. When perusing this site - ALWAYS make sure to click on the tab marked additional information - that is where you will find a deeper level of LDS teaching - but certainly not all, they don't publish it anywhere.
Temples are places of learning. Their principal purpose is to provide ordinances necessary for the children of God to enable them to return to dwell with Him. Temple ordinances lead to the greatest blessings available through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Everything in the Churchthe meetings and activities, the missionary efforts, the lessons taught and the hymnsall lead to the work done in holy temples.
Beck has said over and over again that it’s time to get back to a God centered nation, whatever that God means to you. He has said that we (WE as in NOT HE) need to decide what church is right for us.
Does anyone, in there right mind, disagree that we as a people need to get back to the set of principles that was a foundation of this nation that brought it to be the great nation it is today?
Did Beck say we needed to all be one religion? NO
Did Beck say we need to all belong to the same church? NO
Did Beck say we all needed to follow the same theology? NO
Were the founding fathers of this nation all of the same theological background? NO
Was this nation built on a diversity of theology but still together on a Judeo Christian set of guiding principles? YES
Will this nation last if we divide on Theology. NO,NO,NO it won’t.
I think that conversion to Mormonism from Catholicism is an easy transition because they have many similarities ( Joseph Smith took a little from here and a little from there much like Islam)
But primarily because both are “mystic “ magical faiths...
We pray with saints, not to them. Nice try at Catholic bashing, but fail.
Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
If you don't like the message, just don't click on the thread.
That is definitly contrary to biblical Christianity. I would call it a doctrine of demons.
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”
— James 2:18-20
Exactly, I am a tea party member.. I do not care about the faith of other members..it is political.. but Beck made this about religion..there I draw the line

Mom, you sound like you are speaking from experience!
That makes sense. Thank you for the links. My kid has a 3 hour class in town today, and now I know what I’ll be researching.
Great post! bttt
