The government seized roughly $4 million in fine art, including Rembrandt prints, as well as antique cars, sports memorabilia and animal trophies collected on safari trips....The assets remain in the governments hands but eventually will be auctioned, with proceeds going to victims.
A big question, Mormon officials say, is how much, if any, of the contributions paid to the church were the result of fraud, Farah said. And if so, to whom should the money be returned....He used part of his proceeds to amass hundreds of works by Renaissance artists and works by Rembrandt, displaying them in churches or church-sponsored facilities. It's possible, some LDS members say, that his exhibits lured other donations to the church merely out of appreciation....

That’s a crime and feel bad for the victims. He deserves a harsh punishment just like ANYONE who takes advantage of a position of trust whether it be through a church, organization, etc. There are far too many criminals who take advantate of people who trust them.
Of course we know the purpose for posting this incident.
It’s to show somehow the Mormon church is corrupt, members are stupid or something else to fit the anti-Mormon agenda.
BUT! I’ve read they are ALL such nice people... every one you ever meet... all...
nevermind
Thanks for highlighting the fact that Mormons are just big dupes like everyone else. Their “special” priesthood powers, special revelation, special discernment that they claim makes them different and speschul - don’t work at all.
Even the annointed President/Prophet and his special apostles/couselors have been victim of HUGE scam via Mark Hoffman - no special discernment whatsoever.
Wow, CC is that an admission that there is no love in the anti-vitriol towards Mormons.. uh eh I mean Mormonism? I am surprised. and it is quite telling that, as a “christian” you would only infer to the ignorance of another poster instead of setting straight this whole 8/30 thing you referenced.
Did all those Mormons who got taken forget to pray for wisdom? Why didn’t God answer them? I thought you guys keep saying if you ask God for wisdom, he must grant it!
I have vitriol to anyone who tells lies about God, and about His Gospel. “As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves.”
If Mormons and Mormonism fits the bill - so be it.
It was the Mormon freepers who so falsely accused the fellow freepers of the murder on 8/11. Still no apology, still no repentance. The fruits of Mormonism are dangling low for everyone to see - and the fruits are rotten to the core!
And thanks for bumping the thread.
Bump
8/11 ???
But you do make a habit of asking God for wisdom in all things don’t you? I know I do.
If these dupes prayed to God about investing in this scam, do you think God lied to them? Or is it possible they deceived themselves with dreams of future riches, ....it is an easy trap to get snared in? Or do you think perhaps these good Mormons didn’t even pray about it at all.
If they didn’t pray, why not? If they did pray, then did They get the wrong answer - or did they not listen right?
In the mail....
