I dropped out based on instinct. 30+ years later I have learned my instincts were right.

Using a quote from Eric Harris, one of the Columbine shooters, epitomizes the banality of this video. It could have had an affect if it had been clear and used actual data instead of all opinion.

Back in the 50s when I was in school and went to a Christian school there wasn’t a whole lot of difference between that and the public school though there was some. It really depended on the town you lived in.

The problem doesn’t start in the schools. It starts in the home. When the father of the home puts God first in all things we are told that He will take care of the things we need in this world. If the Father of the home puts the things of this world first the falling away begins to happen. The focus on success and influence in this world has left people thinking that they determine their future instead of relying on God’s blessings.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Luke 12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. 31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

God will take care of those that put Him first, but that’s not what’s happening in our schools today.

Can "full-time Christian ministry" be one of those seductive "things of the world?" Think carefully! What do the following guys have in common?

Answer: They each lost an oldest child to suicide.

>>Can “full-time Christian ministry” be one of those seductive “things of the world?”<<

It most certainly can. I have seen many instances where the focus of a pastor/priest or whatever is the earthly. Look at the pastors who preach prosperity. Imagine the people in those congregations who follow the “if I’m rich and successful I must be doing right by God” gospel. Too many, I’m afraid, are so wrapped up in the “business” of church or the personal glorification of “look how many I have brought in” they lose sight of God.

The list you started is but a fraction of those who put self above God I fear.
