So that's it, huh?

Well...I wonder what he'll say when October 21st comes and goes? Of course, at 89, he may have faced his own "particular judgment" by that time, but that's another issue altogether.

Unusual Doctrines (excerpted)

Russell taught his followers the non-existence of hell and the annihilation of unsaved people (a doctrine he picked up from the Adventists), the non-existence of the Trinity (he said only the Father, Jehovah, is God), the identification of Jesus with Michael the Archangel, the reduction of the Holy Spirit from a person to a force, the mortality (not immortality) of the soul, and the return of Jesus in 1914.

When 1914 had come and gone, with no Jesus in sight, Russell modified his teachings and claimed Jesus had, in fact, returned to Earth, but that his return was invisible. His visible return would come later, but still very soon. It would result in the final conflict between God and the Devil—the forces of good and the forces of evil—in which God would be victorious. This conflict is known to Witnesses as the battle of Armageddon, and just about everything the Witnesses teach centers around this doctrine.

I thought it sounded familiar.

Blasphemy is apparently better than admitting you were wrong, eh Harold?

Ah, the joys of private judgment.

What if this guy talked and no one reported on it? Right now I’d say his tax exempt religious scam needs investigation

Somebody needs to get a cane and drag that man off the stage. This is just pathetic.

Deuteronomy 18:22

That's all you need to know about Harold Camping.

He's got the math all wrong.

The world will end on the 21st day of the 21st month of the 21st Millenium!

I predicted it:

samtheman#5, in Radio host who predicted End of Days to speak

His earlier apocalyptic prediction in 1994 also was a bust, but he said it didn't happen because of a mathematical error.
This one failed due to a grammatical error. The meaning of the word "is".

When I'm right, I'm right!

In an hour and a half broadcast, Camping walked listeners through his numerological timeline, insisting that his teaching has not changed and that the world will still end on October 21, 2011.

“It wont be spiritual on October 21st,” Camping said, adding, “the world is going to be destroyed all together, but it will be very quick.”

What about the seven years of tribulation? Did I somhow miss the great earthquake? How did I miss the three witnesses being dead and lying around for three and a half days?

“Yesterday was the end of the world as we know it. It was totally destroyed. From now on everything is different because Jesus came back (only the truly saved can see Him though). And I will now be known as ‘Trixie’.”, Harold Camping on October 22nd 2011

I don’t know for sure — only the Father knows! — but I’m guessing Oct. 21st will turn out to be yet another “lack of judgment” day for Camping. Double entendre intended.

If Camping is so convinced of his newest prediction, then he should liquidate all his assets & use the money to feed, clothe, shelter, & minister to the poor until the end. I notice he DID NOT do this prior to his 2 previous predictions of doom.

I’ll bet the farm that on Oct. 22, Camping will have even more wealth accumulated, scammed (stolen) from ignorant & vulnerable Christians.

There is a particularly searing place in hell ...

Does Camping think so little of Jesus that he believes he’s been given special insight that even the Son of God wasn’t given? Does he believe that his enlightened study of the Word— God’s Word —and his analysis of supposedly relevant numbers isn’t something that is readily available to Jesus in the blink of an eye?

If Jesus doesn’t know it, it’s unknowable— especially by us— and there’s a specific purpose behind that.

This man is fatally foolish, and has unmitigated gall.
