Last Temptation of Castro: Get Religion [To be Received Back into Church During Papal Visit]
Cranmer ^ | 2/4/12

Posted on 02/05/2012 2:58:27 PM PST by marshmallow

Fidel Castro will be received back into the communion of the Roman Catholic Church during Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the island in March, the Italian press is reporting. If true, this is a remarkable story — and one that has yet to catch the attention of editors this side of the Atlantic.

On 1 Feb 2012, La Republicca — [Italy’s second largest circulation daily newspaper, La Republicca follows a center-left political line and is strongly anti-clerical; not anti-Catholic per se but a critic of the institutional church] — reported that as death approaches, the octogenarian communist has turned to God for solace.

ABC’s Global Note news blog is the only U.S. general interest publication I have found that has reported this story. It referenced the La Republicca story and said that Castro’s

daughter Alina is quoted as saying “During this last period, Fidel has come closer to religion: he has rediscovered Jesus at the end of his life. It doesn’t surprise me because dad was raised by Jesuits.” The article quotes an unidentified high prelate in the Vatican who is working on the Pope’s Cuba trip: “Fidel is at the end of his strength. Nearly at the end of his life. His exhortations in the party paper Granma, are increasingly less frequent. We know that in this last period he has come closer to religion and God.”

Some Italian websites have even speculated as to when Fidel will make his confession and credo — setting the date as 27 March 2012 at 17:30 when the two ottantacinquenni, Pope Benedict XVI and Castro, will meet at the Palacio de la Revolución when the pope makes his official visit to the head of state, Raul Castro.

During Pope John Paul II’s 1998 visit to Cuba, Castro attended mass, but did...........

“”Nope salvation is not universal.””

Ridicules(Heb. 8:10) The law of love is written on everyone’s heart -it is a free decision to follow or reject it, thus salvation is universal. This is Christianity 101

Good Night. I wish you a peaceful evening!

This is the same pope that started the war between the Protestants and the Catholics in England too.
(you know the one where they always accuse the Protestants of trying to kill them - he started it )

This same pope put a bunch of his own family members in charge of all kinds of catholic religious things even though they did not even have any religious training .

If you start looking at how these guys got in power and who they gave power to you start to see just how much of a joke their claim Apostolic succession really is .

There is no indication that the Yeshu passages in the Talmud describe the Jesus of Christianity. There are only a few Yeshu passages that descibe different people who lived at different times who happened to share a common name. But you knew that, didn’t you?

Well, if the Talmud really says that, I guess the Alter-Christ was right to murder Jews. Just as Holy Tradition says, “if someone strikes you on the cheek, kill them.”

Lol you make my point.

Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

This same scripture you pointed out is taken from the Old Testament Book of Jeremiah.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Here you can look up what each word means in the original Hebrew
Jer 31:31 Behold,H2009 the daysH3117 come,H935 saithH5002 the LORD,H3068 that I will makeH3772 a newH2319 covenantH1285 withH854 the houseH1004 of Israel,H3478 and withH854 the houseH1004 of Judah:H3063

new(H2319) =חדשׁ
châdâsh
khaw-dawsh'
new: - fresh, new thing.

covenant(H1285) = בּרית
berı̂yth
ber-eeth'
a compact (because made by passing between pieces of
flesh): - confederacy, [con-]feder[-ate], covenant, league.

No one is automatically saved , you have to receive the gift as in personally accepting it to be saved . They did not receive the gift but they will call on him one day and he will answer them. Can't say the same for people who call themselves Christians but refuse to accept the gift.

BTW these same Hebrew words I used is exactly what Israelis call the New Testament

I find it hard to take what you write very serious considering the lack of knowledge of historical Catholic teachings.

Also , why is it that you can not explain that Jesus is God and the Holy Trinity? These are basic tenants of Chritianity

The part you quoted at 581 appears to be taken out of context from the source you referenced.

Jesus in the Talmud

This is claimed to be a reference to Jesus. However, this claim is patently ridiculous.

Here is what’s said in the Talmud you’re defending.

Is that what you think I was doing? Another example of missing the point. I posted what I did to demonstrate that whatever the Catholics want to throw on Martin Luther, gets blown back on them two-fold. You give a non-sourced, out of context quote from Luther to show that he made mistakes and acted in un-Holy Spirit filled ways at times. This tactic to discredit anything else he might say, is proved futile merely because the Catholic Church's history is replete with far worse acts than mere words. And it cannot be blamed on the "we all are sinners, oh well" meme.

That Pope Paul IV included direct actions in an official Bull that not only prohibited them from professions, limiting their financial and commercial activities, forbidding them to own real estate, and humiliating them by obliging them to wear yellow hats, but banning them to ghettos with a single exit, burned thousands of books - not just the Talmud - but even went so far as murder. What Luther may have believed in his final years - and in some things there is no excuse - he had no power of enforcement as the Pope in Rome did. If you do an honest study of Luther's views on the Jewish people, he was against anti-Judaism NOT anti-Semitic. A good source describing "Luther's Attitudes Toward the Jews" is by James Swan. You can read it online at http://tquid.sharpens.org/luther_Jews.htm#_edn11

Pay no attention to the woman who defends the indefensible things her church has done by trying to put the blame for their atrocities on every one else.

The source was not condemned by FR, so it’s approved by them, like it or not

You’re avoiding my questions weather you believe Jesus is God and whether you believe eve had sex with satan and produced cain

Your non answers show everyone your beliefs that you believe that eve had sex with satan and deny Jesus is God
