Chariots in Red Sea: 'Irrefutable evidence'
World Net Daily ^ | June 7th, 2012 | Joe Kovacs

A news report that stunned the world nine years ago about the discovery of possible ancient chariot wheels at the bottom of the Red Sea is suddenly gaining fresh attention with new video claiming “irrefutable evidence” that corroborates the find.

In June 2003, WND interviewed Bible enthusiasts who dove the waters of the Red Sea, alleging they found and photographed parts of chariots that may be the actual remains of the catastrophe brought upon the Egyptian army which pursued the Israelites, according to the Book of Exodus in the Bible.

“I am 99.9 percent sure I picked up a chariot wheel,” said Peter Elmer, a forklift mechanic from Keynsham, England, who made two diving trips to the Gulf of Aqaba branch of the sea. “It was covered in coral.”

“I believe I actually sat in an ancient chariot cab,” he told WND at the time, referring to his time exploring a submerged item in the underwater junkyard. “Without question, it is most definitely the remains of the Egyptian army.”

Now, Michael Rood, a Hebrew-roots teacher, has produced a video proffering evidence Elmer is absolutely correct.

His DVD, titled “The Red Sea Crossing,” documents the work of numerous researchers from the U.S. and overseas who have probed an underwater land bridge between a beachhead at Nuweiba, Egypt, and what is today Saudi Arabia.

“What they found strewn across the bottom of the reed sea has shaken the religious and scientific community,” says Rood. “Cameras, mounted on remote-controlled submarines, revealed coral-encrusted chariot parts, horse and human remains strewn like battlefield wreckage on the bottom of the reed sea.”

He uses the term “reed sea” instead of Red Sea, as that’s the literal translation of the words “yam suph” in Holy Scripture, referring to the body of water God miraculously opened for the

Why would a land battle near the red (or any branch of this sea) suddenly decide to burry or get rid of the remains of any enemy army anyway? Why should they?

I think the more likely explanation is that this IS possible to be the Biblical Pharoah’s legion of charioteers.

3400 years of anything but gold in a warm, shallow salt water environment virtually assures it's complete disintegration.

The RMS Titanic is several miles down with much lower oxygen levels and is noticeably corroding since it was first sighted. It will consist of several unrecognizable lumps in a few hundred years.

Here is the chart showing where Rood says they crossed...between the "A" and the "Q".

but probably not if they have evidence of chariots and other heavy items a mile from shore.

Maybe the 'shore' was not where it is now.

It seems unlikely that fallen enemy soldiers would be dragged into deeper water, not to mention the horses.

Again, the water may not have been 'where' it is now.

Of course, they could have left the decaying bodies just laying there. Just like after the Tsunamis in Japan and Indonesia. Decaying bodies pose no health risks. (/s)

But you ignore the fact many remains of many more ancient wrecks continue to exist, even if vaguely.

The only problem here is, having these items doesn’t mean they came from “battle”, or being flooded. Obviously they could be debris from various wrecks or jettison events.

I would bet these things are the result of shipwrecks or raft-wrecks

I think it would be safe to assume that there might have been a form of 'ferry' even back then.

So now we have TWO alternatives to add to the 'premise' in the article.

Their use of the phrase "irrefutable evidence" reminds me of the global warming scientists claims of "irrefutable evidence" that the temperatures will climb to 2,000,000 degrees, the seas will rise (or fall, can't remember which), and any humans who don't contribute to funding the scientists careers will die from the heat.

I think the more likely explanation is that this IS possible

I think it is "possible" as well.

HOWEVER, I disagree with the author of this article that it is IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE, especially since they refuse to consider any alternative explanations.

I have come up with ONE alternative, another poster has come up with a SECOND alternative.

I see no IRREFUTABLE PROOF that supports any of the THREE.

Do you?

What if they recover actual 'items' belonging to the horses or men, and it turns out they are NOT even Roman ???

I might point out that you can dredge the bottom of most rivers and find plenty of CARS. Doesn’t mean the river parted and then closed back over them as they were driving across a ( very muddy and impossible to cross) river bottom.

Why would a land battle near the red (or any branch of this sea) suddenly decide to burry or get rid of the remains of any enemy army anyway?

Maybe because during ten's of thousands of years of WARRING with each other, every time the dead were left to rot, entire populations were wiped out by a PLAGUE.

3400 years of anything but gold in a warm, shallow salt water environment virtually assures it's complete disintegration.

Ergo, the divers are lying, and what they have found, does not really exist?

Or, are you saying that whatever physical evidence is down there is not from 3400 years ago?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yam_Suph

[snip] More conjecturally, it has also been suggested that suph may be related to the Hebrew suphah (”storm”) or soph (”end”), referring to the events of the Reed/Red Sea escape itself. [/snip]

I would bet these things are the result of shipwrecks or raft-wrecks where the raft or ship totally disintegrated or evidence of was ignored by the so called “archeologist”

It is possible the first 'raft-builders' were not aware the glue they used was not WATERPROOF.
