Pray for our American Heroes
July 7, 2012 | Irish Rose

Posted on 07/07/2012 3:48:40 PM PDT by Irish Rose

No one is like you, O LORD;
you are great,
and your name is mighty in power.
Who should not revere you,
O King of the nations?
This is your due.
Among all the wise men of the nations
and in all their kingdoms,
there is no one like you.
They are all senseless and foolish;
they are taught by worthless wooden idols.
Hammered silver is brought from Tarshish
and gold from Uphaz.
What the craftsman and goldsmith have made
is then dressed in blue and purple—
all made by skilled workers.
But the LORD is the true God;
he is the living God, the eternal King.
When he is angry, the earth trembles;
the nations cannot endure his wrath.
(Jeremiah 10:6-10)

Father, we come to You because all our hope is in You; give us faith, even the size of a mustard seed.

Lord, we pray for our military, that they would not grow weary in fighting for America. Strengthen them day by day, and give them rest.

Lord, we ask You to revive our nation's economy, and give jobs to those who seek them.

You are great, O LORD, and Your Name is mighty in power. Among all the nations, all their rulers and wise men, there is no one like You. Every other god is false, and all the idols ever made are worthless. But You are the true God, the living God, by whom and for whom all things exist. When You are angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure Your wrath. Who should not revere You, O King of the nations? This is Your due. And we revere You, the eternal King, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE MARQUIS DE LAFAYETTE AT VALLEY FORGE

"Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod"
William Billings

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

God Of Our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand

Heavenly Father, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these brave men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your loving embrace, that You cause Your countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Prayers up. Thank you for that picture. Who on Earth can “paint” a picture like that?

And thank you for that passage of Scripture. That is one I had not been familiar with, but is definitely of the sort to have in one’s memory bank to quote on the spur of the moment; such as:

Titus 3:5-7 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; that we being justified by His grace might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” KJV

Thank you for joining together to praise God and pray for our nation. May God's love be close to your hearts always.

Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. (Galatians 4:6-7)
