Lord, we pray that You would give the leaders of our military wisdom in how to fight the war in Afghanistan. We pray for our military men and women stationed there, that You would guard them against loneliness, fear, and the plans of their enemies.
Lord, we pray for Iraq, that You would bring peace to this nation and preserve the freedom that was won for them at so great a cost. We pray that You would keep Your church there in liberty and safety, and cause it to thrive.
Father, how great is the love You have lavished on us, that we should be called Your children! And that is what we are. Because You loved us, You sent Your Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. On account of Your Name, Lord Jesus, our sins have been forgiven, and through Your Cross we have overcome the evil one. You are our Savior, our mediator; You have reconciled us to the Father, and we know Him who is from the beginning. We thank You for making us Your children and giving us eternal life, in the Name of Jesus the only God, Amen.
Come and pray.
Amen to your anointed prayer, dear Sister.
Thank you, dearest Irish Rose
I join you all in faithful prayer.
Lord, hear our prayers.
Amen, to your beautiful prayer.
I join in prayer for our heroes and nation!
It is a beautiful prayer and I thank you for doing it and keeping our military on your mind and in your prayers. My son is currently in Afghanistan and I know that prayers are needed and effective.
On a slight side note (and I do this not to hijack this thread but because I am truely wondering) what do you think happens to those soldiers who undoubtably go the extra mile and give up their lives for their friends, yet they were unbelievers? I just read of a soldier, who was apparently an atheist or agnostic at best, yet threw himself on a mortar to save other soldiers. I know that the complete answer probably isn’t on this side of heaven, but it truely makes you think.
(Here’s a link to the soldier’s story: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/07/27/murrieta-soldier-killed-days-before-he-was-scheduled-to-return-home/

'To Him be Glory both Now and Forevermore, amen.' (2Pet. 3:18)
Our military does so much for us it is only right to pray for them.
It’s a hard thing to say, but I’m inclined to think that the rule is the same: Our own goodness is never enough; all of us need Jesus.
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. (Jude 2)
