Great Father, we come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ, and we know that You accept us for His sake.

Father, we pray concerning the rise in suicides among our servicemen. We do not know the reasons for it, or what ought to be done, but we ask You to extend Your grace wherever it is needed.

Lord, as we near the eleventh anniversary of 9/11, we thank You for sparing our nation another terrorist attack. May Your mercy to us continue.

Lord, You are the master of the wind and rain; the thunder and lightning obey Your word. You filled the great depths of the ocean, and Your hand raised up the mountains to tower over the earth. At Your voice the stars dance in their courses, and by Your strength the suns burn in the cold reaches of space. And these are but the outer fringe of Your works. How faint the whisper we hear of You! What thunder of power, what glory of holiness, what depths of wisdom and heights of love You hold within Yourself! We hope in Your glory and praise You in the Name of Jesus our Lord, Amen.

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise lie a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
