Blame Evil, Not Guns, For Newtown Massacre

A letter to the editor today in the editorial pages of my local newspaper caught my attention. The writer lamented yesterday’s slaughter of 27 innocents in Newtown, Connecticut – as we all do. Then he identified the culprit – guns.

We’ve never heard of a “mass-knifing” claiming so many victims, he pointed out. His implication was that, if we scrap the Second Amendment, there will be no more funerals for victims of mass murder.

Timothy McVeigh did not use a gun in 1995 when he killed 168 people, including 10 children, at the Alfred P.Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. His weapon was ammonium nitrate, a common agricultural fertilizer, and nitromethane, a motor racing fuel.

Mohammed Atta and his fellow jihadis did not use guns to kill 2,996 men, women and children in their 2001 attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. They used fuel-laden jetliners.

So guns are no more responsible for yesterday’s massacre in Newtown than fertilizer and racing fuel was responsible for the carnage in Oklahoma City and commercial jets for the terror attacks in New York City in Washington, D.C.

There is, however, one common thread in the atrocities committed by McVeigh, by Atta and his fellow terrorists and, by young Adam Lanza. They were all, everyone of them, operating under demonic influence.

Indeed, the Apostle Peter warned us, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

And the Apostle Paul echoed, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The devil preys upon those who do not have God in their lives, using them to kill, steal and destroy. He also manipulates for his evil purposes those who practice false religion, like Atta and his fellow Islamist jihadis.

That is why those of us who are Christ followers must be vigilant in our prayers, asking the Almighty to maintain a hedge of protection around our families, our friends and our communities.

The MSM is using this story to call for a ban on all firearms. The Republicans will support it because, like Obama and the Democrats, they are owned by the NWO globalists. Taking our guns is a prerequisite to ensuring that no one can resist the NWO. We have all been lied to. The Republicans are selling us down the river along with the Democrats. The same entity owns them all. Stop giving money to the GOP. Stop hoping that Karl Rove or Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh will save you. Stop believing the propaganda and open your eyes. The fix has been in for a long time, but I only realized it after Romney’s loss. Everything you see and read, including on Fox and on conservative talk radio, is a lie.

The mainstream media causes these shootings.

These idiots or psychos seek the fame the media will give them. the media are pure evil.

So now every person in America ( the world ) will know this moron’s name , his whole life story . Who cares ? I know why he did it : the media. This phenomenon didn’t happen in the many decades when the media hadn’t glorified shooters.

We shouldn’t give these psychos what they seek which is attention and fame. I REALLY don’t care what this pos is or what it did whatever and we fall into the media trap by talking about this thing etc. I just post that the media caused this to open people’s eyes.

These psycho’s are the media’s heros. they use them to take away our guns, our rights, and empower government. The media are democrats/socialists whose main goal it to empower government and to take away power from the individual. the media are pure evil.

I will NOT give this idiot nor the media what they seek, attention , fame , knowledge of it nor the reaction the media wants is for me to think that government needs to control our gun rights more . We are all being manipulated here, wake up people.

Finally someone has the courage to say what is wrong here...it was EVIL. Those who scoff and say Satan is just a fairy tale or a myth should open their eyes and see his handiwork in this massacre. This is the same evil that prompted the systematic extermination of over 6 million people in Nazi Germany, the killing fields of Cambodia, flying hijacked airplanes into buildings and yes aborting innocent babies from their mother’s womb. Evil exists and can enter anyone who is open to it. We have lost our way as a nation and have forsaken God and this is what we can expect.

First, there are already more than 20,000 gun control laws actively on the books today and none of them prevented this tragedy. Second, millions upon million of people in America own guns and 99.9999% of them have never and will never do anything like this.

So, let’s lose the hysteria and analyze the facts - a PERSON did this, NOT a hunk of steel. In Portland, a PERSON killed two people in the mall, NOT a hunk of steel! In Denver, a PERSON shot up the theater, NOT a hunk of steel!!

NONE of these facts will matter to the gun-grabbing nanny-staters, because they focus solely on the gun and nothing else. So, what happens if ALL guns are outlawed and forcibly collected by the feds? Someone bent on committing mass murder may turn to knives, hatchets, chainsaws or machetes. So, we outlaw those. The next person to commit a heinous crime may use a bat, poison, poison gas or a semi-tractor. And the one after that may use a car, a pen or pencil, a rock, his hands . . . . . . so when do we blame the PERSON and NOT the inanimate weapon!???

The fact remains that until the left understands that murdering humans by ANY means including their favorite method, abortion, human life will be valueless and more copycats will come out to exercise their demented mass murder of innocent people.

All of that said, it occurs to me that the gun-grabbers are from the leftist school of complete control. What that means is that if 1 person commits a gun crime then, under the leftist theory of the “collective” and “groupthink”, they believe that ALL gun owners will commit mass murder unless they eliminate guns (good luck with that!). So, the calls for more gun control by the left after these incidents is twofold - eliminate the “balance of power” the Founding Fathers so carefully wove into the Constitution and gain total control over the people.

Another part that affects all of this is the fact that laws, whether gun laws, robbery laws, or whatever, are written solely to affect law-abiding citizens. People who commit crimes are called “outlaws” and criminals because they DON’T adhere to the laws created to control or stop their illegal activities.

So, should the left create additional gun control laws, will it prevent the next gun-related crime? Of course not. Laws only affect those of us who obey them. Those who disregard the law won’t be stopped from committing whatever crime they want to commit.

As a final note, Adam Lanza did not own the guns he used to murder all of the people at Sandy Hook Elementary. They were his mother’s guns and they were all legally purchased and registered. Which begs the question, what will any NEW gun control laws accomplish?
