Time To Worry: Americans Are Turning Away From Christianity
PJ Media ^ | 05-12-2015 | Michael van der Galien

The last several decades, the Left has done its best to change America’s religious landscape. According to a new Pew study, they’re succeeding better than many thought possible:

"The number of Americans who don’t affiliate with a particular religion has grown to 56 million in recent years, making the faith group researchers call “nones” the second-largest in total numbers behind evangelicals, according to a Pew Research Center study released Tuesday."

Christians are still the majority, but their numbers have fallen from 78 percent to just under 71 percent. The main reason? Increasingly more Americans consider themselves “non affiliated” with any particular religion.

The good news? This doesn’t automatically mean that Americans have become atheists. There is a large group of people who consider themselves to be ‘spiritual’ and who believe there’s likely a God, but who just don’t have a bond with any particular religion.

Sadly, that’s all the good news I’ve got for today:

"Last year, 31 percent of “nones” said they were atheist or agnostic, compared to 25 percent in 2007, and the percentage who said religion was important to them dropped."

In short, there are fewer religious people and those who don’t consider themselves ‘religious’ in the traditional sense are moving towards atheism — fast.

I blame the leftist influence on the culture to some degree - and the main line denominations as well...

Given the number of stories I’ve seen about this today, I suspect there is an organized push to discourage Christians.

The results of this poll seem to be misleading at best. What appears to be true is that the “churches” that have become apostate and no longer preach the Gospel (Episcopal, Church of Christ, many Presbyterian, Lutheran and Methodist) are bleeding membership like a hemophiliac. Evangelical churches are still growing, although not at the same pace that the population is growing. And the Catholic Church in America is losing membership at the fastest pace of all - probably because of their refusal to discipline the “cafeteria Catholics” in high public office that loudly and publicly support things like homosexual marriage and abortion.

I read about this on BBC. The under 30s think the main tenet of religion is to be “happy”. It's all about gratification now and not sacrifice.
The problem is our enemy is willing to sacrifice their lives, many of them, with no problem.
Many nephews and nieces and their friends either attend church but make up their own rules and some have just walked away completely.

That is what happens when non-Christians seize control of churches and entire denominations.

Without digging further, was the question about not having a specific denominational affiliation or about not actually believing? There is a big difference.

There are, probably in reality, far less than 71% actual Christians in this country.

The Left does seem to be taking quite a few victory laps over this today.

Once America permanently comes under the rule of non-Christian forces, it’s “game over.”

This was predicted over 2,000 years ago. IN THE LATTER DAYS, THERE WILL BE A GREAT FALLING AWAY.

>> Time To Worry

Naw. It’s never time to worry. It’s always time to pray, though.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

St. Paul, from his letter to the Philippians. (4:6,7)

Isn’t this necessary for the Revelations prophesies to happen?

It was game over when Obama got re-elected. The country is already past the point of no return. Enjoy the ride down.

Well, being not affiliated with religion is easier than being affiliated with any religion at all. I am not saying leave it behind, but I am saying that overall, many churches don’t understand what is really going on, or what they need to appeal to.

FWIW, plenty of the politicians such as Joe Biden are not allowed Communion, however, that isn’t enough to really counter the general populace and membership. Wheat and tares are being separated throughout all of Christianity, my friend, find people that need Christ, share his word with them, and try to help and save whom you may, because the shaky ride is in session.

On the other end of the spectrum, I have a cousin who is leaving the Episcopal church because, to paraphrase him, he is tired of being on a diet and wants some meat.
