A lot of Catholics are Democrats, for some reason.

...that’s another reason I left, I was tired of these pro-aborts and Woke types presenting themselves in the Communion line like they are immaculate beings or something. SURE glad I did too!

Catholics are split between D and R with a sizable chunk that are neither.

Its historical, cultural. I have several childhood friends, Irish or Italian background, whose fathers or grandfathers were blue-collar workers, strong "union" guys - when unions were not government-run, and when they were not Marxist.

So they would feel it as a betrayal of themselves to be anything but Democrats.

But having said that, they also aren't knowledgeable about either present Democrat positions, nor are they studious and practicing "Catholics."

At my traditional latin Church, the priest recently gave a homily about the FBI and coming leftist persecution of Catholics and Christians of all kinds. Quiet different, very conservative, but there is room for diversity of opinion within the Church.

Catholicism (and all Christianity, really) has a strong message of being charitable and the Democrats have successfully appropriated that message. But it is actually distorted, as the Democrats are not being truly charitable, because what they are actually doing is exchanging tax dollars for votes, which keeps them in power. There is no spiritual benefit to the giver or the receiver, which is really what charity is all about.

Most Catholics naturally align with Democrats because they want a big bureaucratic government to align with their big bureaucratic church.

A few of them understand you can’t be a Catholic AND a secular socialist and most of those people are here on FR.

I think the reason might be because The dems think they can sin, and just go to confession and glibly “confess” their sins (with no intention of giving them up), and go right back out and commit the same sins over and over again. They wanna .ive like the world, no holds barred, indu, ging in every sin under the sun, and go to church once in awhile to “confess” and think they have been cleansed for a bit, jusy incase they die before they go out and indulge their sic, fantasies again.

My wife's sister and her husband are rabid catholics. And every election they vote straight-line Democrat. They live in a trailer park in California and exist on social security alone because they're fiscally irresponsible, which is no surprise considering where they live. As we're conservative Protestants, any talk about politics or religion is out of the question because of their irrational beliefs.

That’s changed recently with the rise of wokism

https://www.google.com/search?q=catholic+voting+stats+usa&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS1000US1000&oq=catholic+voting+stats+usa&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i546j0i546i649.9595j0j7&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

It’s hard to figure

They are like Jews

So many claim to be catholic from birth but aren’t religious

That describes most of my catholic friends and most of my family who are non practicing Catholics

As a southern Baptist fire and brimstones kind of ingrains a reluctance to wander too far lol

It works criticize it all you like

I went to the front at a guest Jim Robeson revival at Calvary Baptist church in Jackson Mississippi in 1967 at 10 years old Wednesday night service after RAs

My dad watching our students group sitting up front in our 4-500 souls congregation whispered to my mom

“He’s gonna get all down there at this rate” lol

Salvation ..whatever works more or less

For Catholics too

A lot of Catholics also aren't Catholics. We've got the same problem the Evangelicals have in that many, many young Catholics chose to embrace the Prince of this World rather than Christ. That is the fault of our horrendous bishops, of course. Those corners of Catholicism which offer a viable alternative to the Prince of this World (aka, traditional Catholicism) continue to flourish as they always have -- but now many who make up the institutional Church hate traditional Catholicism. So yeah. So we've got our work cut out for us.

That said, pray to the Mother of God and ask for her intercession. Then, Christ will command his angels as he did at the wedding feast a Cana to "do whatever she tells you." Enjoy the friendship of Christ's holy mother. Don't be a Nestorian.
