     Black Flags of Islam

Portents of the Imam al-Mahdi, the Moslems' prophesied deliverer of Jerusalem?

from Diane Alden…

Afghanistan has special significance to the world of militant Islam.
It was once called Khurasan, along with parts of Iran and Pakistan.

Muhammad said: "If you see the black flags coming from Khurasan, join that army, even if you have to crawl over ice, for that is the army of the Imam al-Mahdi and no one can stop that army until it reaches Jerusalem."

That is one reason Osama bin Laden chose it as his base, or al-Qaida.

Will Osama Appear In Pakistan?

Be vigilant for jihadin carrying black flags.

On the wall behind this black-masked Hamas terrorist is a poster of Osama bin Laden.
Note the two black flags around the poster.

Anyone have a translation of the Arabic on the poster, or know just which black flags these are?

I have written a techno-thriller about the rise of the Imam al-Mahdi and how he consorts with Red China to put down America, resulting in a third world war.

Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire

It is the first in a five part series that will examine the resulting war and the impact of this individual and the Red Chinese in the coming years. It's fiction, but a lot of research has gone into it.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Regards.

If bin Laden were to show up at the Ka'aba during Ramadan, would the Saudi government dare to try to arrest him? Everything I've read suggests the Saudi government is deathly afraid of bin Laden and the militant Muslims who follow him.

On Diane Sawyer's 20/20 interview with bin Laden's sister-in-law the other night, the background story made mention that bin Laden's father had built much of the shrine around Mecca.

Anyone got any details on that?

Great humor. (But if there is validity to sabertooth's suspicions, then your idea has the makings of a great propaganda campaign.)

We are talking about a cancer in the heart of the Muslim world and that is Israel. It must be eradicated and removed." On another occasion, Bakri told protesters at a violent demonstration outside the London Central Mosque in Regent Park, "All Israeli targets are legitimate for you. All Israelis must be destroyed."(31)

The most significant element of Bakri's doctrine is Jihad. A document entitled "Jihad: The foreign policy of the Islamic state" was posted on the Al-Muhajirun website. The document included a lengthy, in-depth analysis of the meaning of Jihad. "Jihad, as a term, cannot be translated as 'holy war,'" it said, "nor can it be translated as... 'struggle.' At best, its legal meaning can be understood as 'using military force, where diplomacy fails, to remove the obstacles the Islamic State faces in carrying its ideology to mankind

Jihad is... one of the main Pillars of Islam after Tawhid (the assertion of Monotheistic faith) and Da'wa (proselytizing). In fact, Jihad is… Da'wa by the Islamic state as its foreign policy."(35

In an interview with the French Le Monde, Bakri stated his "intention to make the flag of Islam fly high at No. 10 Downing Street and at the Elysee." The article continues, "Islam, according to him, is the supreme ideology facing an immoral West, and... all contemporary leaders of the Muslim world, with no exceptions, are pawns of the West."(38) With thanks to Allah, we bring peace to all, and we help the world realize that Islam is the only way of life... Terrorism according to the West is defined as 'the systematic use of violence to achieve political or religious ends... Al-Muhajirun defines terrorism as 'to attack without the divine right'

"...Our duty is to work to establish an Islamic state anywhere in the world, even in Britain... Life is protected under us. There will be no minorities and majorities as in America. antisemitism in the U.S. is disgraceful. Synagogues and churches will flourish in the Khilafa as long as they adopt Islamic law. We restored life for Jews after the Crusades, and we plan to do so again..."

Following the September 11, 2001 attacks on the U.S., Bakri told the BBC that "what happened was a direct consequence of the evil foreign policy of the USA. This is the compensation and payback for its own atrocities against Muslims."(40) The Al-Muhajirun website offered an in-depth look at the issue, under the headline, "USA at war with Islam":

The Fatwa appeared under the emblem of the "Shari'a Court of the UK," and, in the Arabic version, was signed by Sheikh Bakri, Shari'a Court Judge in London, and by the Secretary General of the Committee for the Protection of Legitimate Rights (in Saudi Arabia), Muhammad bin Abdallah Al-Musa'ari "Abu Majed." The two called on all Muslim clerics to study the matter and add their signatures to the ruling.

We need to set up a 500 foot tall flagpole out in the desert south of Khandahar for all these loonies to gather around.

Good idea. LOL.

The flags read: "There is no God but God and Mohammed is the messenger of God."

Thanks, but which flags? The Taliban's?

Were you able to read the poster of bin laden in the first pic?

Thanks for the ping.

There is no way the coward Osama can win against the USA. A terrorists is in no way a warrior. He is a bully and a coward and does not even fight , he just terrorizes and destroys and does this even to his own followers.

Our Troops are warriors and trained to fight.Osama's are dead men walking in each act of terrorism they do.What glory is there in that....none.

His only hope is to have other Arab countries join him in his cause like Saddam helping him out in the open and go against Isreal and America.

He started a dangerous game of chess and we will take out every rook, every Knight and checkmate him to his death.

This photo ought to cure anyone of the Ebony & Ivory concept of the human community. Everyone is not the same wherever you* go. There may be good and bad in everyone, but some people have defined their good as your complete and total elimination from the face of the earth. You're not failing to understand them if you think they want you dead. Their wanting you dead is not due to misunderstanding on their part of your objectives in life. There is no level of "understanding" that will make their objectives become good from your point of view unless you should agree to your own demise. The only thing to be done is to fully comprehend their intransigence and prepare for battle or simply acquiesce. Given what "Islam" means, "surrender", they're expecting that's just what you'll do. Let's falsify their concept of reality.

*This is the rhetorical, not personal, you.

Hi Saber,

Good post although am getting sick of looking at these cretins. We all know what we need to do...but has America been so weakened by the left that we lack the guts to do it..? If we fail to respond accordingly these bullies will be back in the future and it will be nuclear next time.

I don't see any black flags in the "Hamas demonstration" pic.

Up and to the left of the orange flag in the foreground, at about a 10 o'clock angle, is a cluster of four black flags. You can tell them from the shadows and black t-shirts because you can see the staffs they're hanging from.

Time for a trip down memory lane...

Arab Revolt Flag

Origin of the Pan-Arab Colours

From the PASSIA home page:

Red
The Khawarij were the first Islamic group to emerge after the assassination of Caliph Uthman III, forming the first republican party in the early days of Islam. Their symbol was the red flag. Arab tribes who participated in the conquest of North Africa and Andalusia carried the red flag, which became the symbol of the Islamic rulers of Andalusia (756-1355).
In modern times, red symbolizes the Ashrafs [ie. Sharifians] of the Hijaz and the Hashemites, descendants of the Prophet.
Green: The Fatimid Dynasty (909-1171), North Africa
The Fatimid Dynasty was founded in Morocco by Abdullah Al-Mahdi, and went on rule all of North Africa. They took green as their color, to symbolize their allegiance to Ali, the Prophet's cousin, who was once wrapped in a green coverlet in place of the Prophet in order to thwart an assassination attempt.
White: The Umayyad Dynasty (661-750), Damascus
The Umayyads ruled for ninety years, taking white as their symbolic color as a reminder of the Prophet's first battle at Badr, and to distinguish themselves from the Abbasids, by using white, rather than black, as their color of mourning. Mu'awia Ibn Abi Sufian (661-750), founder of the Umayyad state, proclaimed himself Caliph of Jerusalem.
Black: The Prophet Mohammad (570-632)
In the seventh century, with the rise of Islam and subsequent liberation of Mecca, two flags - one white, one black - were carried. On the white flag was written, "There is no god but God (Allah) and Mohammad is the Prophet of God."
In pre-Islamic times, the black flag was a sign of revenge. It was the color of the headdress worn when leading troops into battle. Both black and white flags were placed in the mosque during Friday prayers.
The Abbasid Dynasty (750-1258), ruling from Baghdad, took black as a symbol of mourning for the assassination of relatives of the Prophet and in remembrance of the Battle of Karbala.

Quoted source: Evolution of the Arab Flag, by Mahdi Abdul Hadi, Amman, Feb. 1986.

Arab Revolt Flag

From the PASSIA home page:

"Sharif Hussein designed the flag of the Arab Revolt on June 1916. The Palestinian people raised it as the flag of the Arab National movement in 1917. In 1947, the Arab Ba'ath Party interpreted the flag as a symbol of the liberation and unity of the Arab nation. The Palestinian people readopted the flag at the Palestinian conference in Gaza in 1948. The flag was recognized by the Arab League as the flag of the Palestinian people. It was further endorsed by the PLO, the representative of the Palestinians, at the Palestinian conference in Jerusalem in 1964."

Quoted source: Evolution of the Arab Flag, by Mahdi Abdul Hadi, Amman, Feb. 1986.

After the fall of Hejaz the colors were used by Husain's sons 'Abdulla (emir of the Transjordan) and Faisal (king of Iraq). Later on they became known as the Pan-Arab colors.

Harald Müller, 13-MAR-1996

The flag of Sharif Hussein of Hejaz, was a conscious union of the old Islamic dynasties, plus the red of Sharifian clan. The red also came to symbolise revolt against the Turks. Husain's 3 sons became kings of Jordan, Syria, and Iraq, hence the minor differentiations in the Sharifian flag. Hussein's original intent was for his flag to be identical in those 3 countries with the addition of one star for Jordan-Palestine, two stars for Iraq, and three stars for Syria. The Jordanian one is the only that has survived, and the Palestinians use the same flag without the star as a tie to their original territorial integrity. (Palestine and Transjordan were split in 1923 to clarify that a Jewish homeland did not apply to the latter.) In 1961 Kuwait switched from its red Gulf flag to a Sharifian variant.

T.F. Mills, APR-1998

During World War I, Arabs in the Hejaz (the Red Sea coast of the Arabian peninsula) rose up against the Ottoman Sultan, with the help of the British, who were fighting the Ottomans at the time. The revolt was headed by the Hashemite dynasty of Mecca, and their banner was red, white, green, and red. Jordan is the last state left with a Hashemite ruling king, and thus its flag is closest to the original model. The colours are intended to correspond to the early Islamic dynasties of the first half of the middle ages; this is probably an "invented tradition," as the use of flags by such dynasties is anachronistic.

The Hashemite revolt was the Arab world's first embrace of European-style nationalism, but it was largely unsuccessful, mostly due to lack of Western support. The Arab-speaking areas of the old Ottoman empire were mostly divided up between France and England, though the British did install Hashemite princes as local rulers in the areas they controlled. Even in the Hejaz, the Hashemites were driven out by the Wahabi Saudi dynasty, which, then as now, was less concerned with Arab nationalism than in its doctrine of religious fundamentalism. Nevertheless the flag was remembered as associated with Arab nationalism, even if the Hashemite dynasty was not.

Joshua Fruhlinger, 11-JAN-1999

Compare:

Revelation 6:1-8

1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale* horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Found this on another web site.

It says the obvious, in Arabic:

"Ashhadu Alla Ilaha Illa Allah Wa Ashhadu Anna Muhammad Rasulu Allah."

Or in English: "I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah and that Muhammad is his servant and Messenger."

Both the black and white Taliban flags say the same thing.

Black Flags. Moslem soldiers. The banner of the Abbasides (3 syl.) is black; that of the Fatimites (3 syl.) green; and that of the Ommiades (3 syl.) white. Hence the banner of the Kalif of Bagdad is black, but that of the Sultan of Damascus is green. (Gibbon, chap, iii.) 1 Black Flags. Pirates of the Chinese Sea who opposed the French in Tonquin, etc.
