I am not so sure that they can change the internet to have all traffic go through a few sites. The strength of the internet is that it is self modifying and can seek its own way for messages. This is inherent in the system and cannot be modified.

I don't care. I am not a criminal. When this is over we can change things back to normal.

The future Clinton-like politicians will have a tremendous mine of information with which to blackmail their opposition.

The public relations disaster for the FBI will really come when the American people find out they have people in custody for INS violations that are Arabs, attempting to purchase large amounts of candy with illegal amounts of money on fake company wholesale IDs.

That they further know that the Arabs were videotaping and taking pictures of the store chain where these people were apprehended. That the videotaping took place in Sterling, Virginia 14 days prior to the first postal worker diagnosed with anthrax in that town. That all indications are that the anthrax attacks are a decoy of resources for a greater attack on holloween, and not one person in auhtority nationally did anything to stop it.

Not one person at the national level has said these pieces coming together are predictive of a disaster. We need to call off holloween.,p.

What makes you so secure as to think things will ever be returned to normal? We are in a fight for our lives and the enemy has the means, and will, to kill 200 million of us within this next year, right here in this country.

Oh. poor naive one. When in the last 50 years has the gov given any rights back that they have taken.

By the way, there are sooooo many laws and increasingly more. Are you sure you're not a criminal. What if posting on a 'hate page' as this has been called by some mainstream groups becomes a crime. Are you just going to streamline your activities.

Oh my. I hope that yours is not a popular opinion.

The FBI will have a helluva time enforcing restrictions and limitations on foreign providers and website administrators since they are not under our legal perview. US government agencies can only hope to convince such entities with cooperative international agreements and treaties that cannot be enforced any better. Besides, it would be more counter productive to quell internet traffic than to monitor it to see what potential enemies are saying and thinking. Finally, the internet is as much as an aid and a tool in the fight against terrorism as it is a transmission medium for collaborators in terrorist acts. If they shut off net access, like the communist Chinese do for many websites under their regime, it will only be to our detriment and dearth. Third world terrorist scumbags will still be free to ply their plans via their own networks, if not by internet, then by other telecommunications outlets.

To contaminate and rewrap candy in large quantities would be a laborious task. However it is quite possible that we could see a few al-Qaeda "tricks" this Halloween. If the terrorists have a stash of smallpox, what better way to spread it than kids?

You can't blackmail an honest man.

"If the terrorists have a stash of smallpox, what better way to spread it than kids?"

Spread it around at sporting events or in airport terminals. Airport terminals would be the most effective, which almost makes me think they don't have any smallpox. With a vaccination, the carrier wouldn't even have to die to spread it. Walk through the terminal with a concealed dispersion container. Walk out. Then it gets spread all over the country.

What was that sound? Oh, it was just more rights being taken away. All too often, the loss of freedom starts with what seems like a legitimate purpose. But once that purpose is gone, the freedom doesn't come back. Eventually, the FBI will start looking into what they think of as 'domestic terrorists'. Think about that the next time you participate in a FreeRepublic thread talking about assult rifles, militias, etc. I've recently wondered that if it came down to it, if it would be possible for the citizenry of this country to pull off a revolution without being completely squashed thanks to 'Big Brother'.

Hopefully, it won't ever come down to it. Hopefully, this country will come back to it's roots, and enjoy the protection of the entire constitution, including the 2nd Amendment. (It's in there... look it up.)

Better close up daycare centers too- you can spread crap easier through them than by dosing candy. You can't run from this stuff, because there is always a way for someone to get you if they want to badly enough.

Panic is a better weapon than the real thing.

No, if it is in an airport then it spreads all over the world. Even to their countries where medical treatment and infrastructure is not very good. They could end up getting more of thier people dead than we have. I really don't think they will try small pox.

I don't think they would hesitate to allow a few million of their own people to die for their cause.

Just think, with this new system, the internet cannot be used to start events as was done for KLAMMATH FALLS.....They just pull the switch on the organizers.

If that doesn't shut it down they beam to the satellite that your vehicles are stolen and they shut down....great, aint it!

Make it sixty and you will see quite a few. WWII took away a lot of rights that we got back. War does that. And most all of us welcomed it because the war was more important to win than worrying about rights, especially since if we lost we would not have any. We have lost hardly any in this war compared to WWII. And some of the rights we have supposedly lost, we did not even have before WWII. Many rights have been invented since WWII. Privacy is a good one, as well as restrictions on search, Miranda, etc. So cool it.
