A new poll by a Catholic advocacy group shows President Barack Obama has a slight lead over Gov. Mitt Romney among non-Hispanic Catholics, despite the stalled economy and his 2012 establishment of church regulations requiring them to fund contraception and abortion-related services that they abhor.
The poll of 2,629 likely Catholic voters, an unusually large sample, showed that 46.5 percent of non-Hispanic Catholics support Obama, while 45.6 percent support Romney.

It has been a long and difficult year.
man i am with you. i am Catholic (although not a great one) and do not get this at all. i think some of it goes back to kennedy and i hate to say it but there are a heck of a lot of lib Catholics out there. i am a single guy no kids but pro life, Navy vet and this just frankly astounds me. if anyone has any insight please let me know here.
Don’t know what Catholics they are polling, but it sure isn’t my church/s or KC members.
Catholics with the issue of abortion and Jews with the issue of Israel.
Why either would be a democrat today seems problematic, but I hold out hope that in elections such as this it will be the ‘silent majority’ of each group that doesn’t like to admit they voted for a Republican, that will decide this.
Sometimes spirituality and politics are subjects that people keep more private than our lib counterparts.

There are obviously many Catholics who lack the courage of their convictions. It is sad they would participate not only in their personal destruction but in the destruction of their religion.
Yes and probably using 2008 percentages as a basis when Obama was at his highest.
