Poll: Romney the frontrunner in 2016?
CNN's Political Ticker ^ | June 19, 2014 | Paul Steinhauser, political editor

Posted on 06/19/2014 3:36:50 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

He's said over and over that he won't run for the White House a third time, but a new poll indicates that if Mitt Romney changed his mind and made another bid for president, he'd be the frontrunner among Republicans in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire.

According to the Suffolk University/Boston Herald survey, which was released Thursday, 24% of Granite State Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say that Romney would be their first choice for their party's presidential nomination.

Among the potential 2016 GOP contenders, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was a distant second, at 9%, with Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky at 8%, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7%.

While the survey may make headlines, it's important to remember that Romney's very well known in New Hampshire. He owns a vacation home in the state, has often appeared at GOP events in New Hampshire, and was governor of neighboring Massachusetts. Romney easily won the 2012 Republican primary, but lost the state by six percentage points to President Barack Obama in the general election....

NH is not likely to go to a conservative. No surprise. The real race will be in SC and FL. Hopefully the field isn’t too large by then this time.

You are obviously very religious so I doubt you see the overall picture, as most extremely religious people do not have an open mind to evaluate things from an independent viewpoint. Your own posts show where you lean, what you actually believe, and how you evaluate others.

I have no candidate to push because I am looking for someone who isn’t a religious nutcase. I like common sense. I am Christian, so I do see some things from that viewpoint. However, I believe there is way too much “KOOLAID” involved in how people vote.

One point for me in the Presidency is that this person is going to be the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces...I believe it should be a requirement that they have served in the Military, at least as a Reservist. That’s a personal opinion....not a religious one....and O Drama certainly has proven my point.

So, you don’t have a candidate, either?

I don’t understand why you regular posters here on the premiere conservative website are SO quick to get your dander up when it comes to Romney and any Bush......but yet you can’t galvanize to back a candidate who will defeat Hillary?

Or, will that ruin your victimhood status as you claim that the republicans just didn’t nominate anyone you could vote for, so you like the fact that Hillary won. The regular posters here on the premiere conservative website were gleeful that Obama won twice, since they just could not vote for McCain or Romney.

Who’s your candidate, again?

Obama ONLY won because of Willard the Rat Romney
attacking the Palin family in 2008 through surrogates,
and then attacking conservatives in 2012.

You obviously support those attacks, and support
both Obama and Soros, by supporting their pet, trained,
lying conservative-attacker.

Seen it before. Still don’t care. I’m sick of the Mormon hating. I’ve never had one break into my house and try to steal something from me. I’ve never had one try to hurt me. For the most part, they don’t even annoy me. We will leave that for the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Point taken. I do live in New Hampshire, and Romney has no chance here. Because the Democrats will be having an active primary, only Republicans will be voting in the Republican primary. This time, NH will vote for a conservative candidate. The Republicans here are pretty conservative. It’s the crossover votes that ruin our results.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Santorum. I didn’t like that he got his butt kicked in his last Senate race, that’s why I was highly skeptical of his entry, it was extremely hard to envision him winning after that. When our best candidate was a Senator that lost by 17 points, that’s a terrible crop of candidates.

He’s was a very good Senator.

His campaign was rather blah, but he became the ONLY choice after Herman Cain fizzled out amidst manufactured scandal and neophyte campaign mistakes and the decent compared to Romney/Newt/Paul “His Rickness” bombed out in the early contests (and Michelle Bachman never got off the ground).

After Gingrich (who I think is just as liberal as Romney and even less electable) got creamed in Florida and Santorum won the next batch of contests, he should have been rallied around, as it was crystal clear Gingrich was finished. But too many people continued to carry the idiot ball for ole Newt and even insisted that Santorum was a Romney plant to split the vote, pathetic. I believe he was the favorite here right until the end (aside from Palin, whom some believed could magically drafted long after candidate filing closed).

See, just rehashing the 2012 race makes me sick, which is why we must have fresh candidates. If it’s Romney and Jeb (this might his first run but he’s as fresh as Michael Moore’s underwear on laundry day) running and Santorum were again the only choice by default, I’d probably do what I did in 2006 and shut out political news.

GOPSTER: “If this is true, why not just run George Bush I again? Sad...”

Ha, I almost said that myself. Why not Bob Dole? He’s showing his age big time, the old fella. That makes him an appropriate foe for that decrepit hag, Hillary. “Wow she looks old even next to Bob Dole”!

No. Obama won in 2008 because the backstabber Romney
and his surrogates went after the Palin family.

Apparently you shamelessly support his disgusting behavior, too.

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Studying the Scriptures   https://www.lds.org/manual/new-testament-student-study-guide/the-revelation-of-saint-john-the-divine/revelation-17-18-the-destruction-of-babylon-the-harlot?lang=eng

Do the following activity as you study Revelation 17–18.

Activity A iconFinding the Meaning of the Scriptures

Sometimes, the interpretation of a symbol or confusing passage of scripture can be understood by searching for clues in verses before or after it.

  1. 1. Compare Revelation 17:1–2, 6, 18 with Revelation 18:2–3, 24 and write a statement in your notebook about who the “whore” or woman in Revelation 17 symbolizes.
  2. 2. What does Revelation 17:15 help you understand about Revelation 17:1?
  3. 3. Revelation 17:3 speaks of a beast with seven heads and ten horns. According to Revelation 17:12, what are the horns?

On other occasions, you may need to turn to other books of scripture for help in understanding or for additional information. After you learn an interpretation (as you should in steps 1–5), you may want to mark your scriptures in a way that leads you to that interpretation the next time you study these chapters. For example, you may want to highlight the helpful reference in your footnotes or write the cross-reference in the margin next to the verse.

  1. 4. To help you understand Revelation 17, read 1 Nephi 14:9–17. Write what you learn about the meaning of the beast and what the woman did before the time period spoken of in Revelation 17.
  2. 5. How does Doctrine and Covenants 133:14 help you understand what it means to follow the Lord’s command in Revelation 18:4?

There are times when it is difficult to find additional help in the scriptures. The meaning has to come through the Spirit as you take time to ponder. A helpful way to ponder over symbolic language is to take time to picture in your mind the symbols, and then write down a description of them. Ask yourself questions like: What are the most significant features of the symbol? What feeling or message do those features create? What is the spiritual message? These simple ideas often encourage pondering that invites a spirit of insight and understanding. Try using them in completing steps 6–7.

  1. 6. What does the description of the woman in Revelation 17:4 teach you about what Babylon represents?
  2. 7. Considering what you have learned, why is a harlot an appropriate symbol for Babylon? (You may want to consider information given in the introduction and the “Understanding the Scriptures” section.)

I am Christian, so I do see some things from that viewpoint.

A lot of folks say that; and then do not stand up for the cause very much.

A lot of folks say that; and then DO stand up for the cause very much.

As for ME; I'll go along with what the book says:

Romans 16:17
I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

1 Corinthians 4:17
For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

1 Corinthians 11:2
 2.  I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings,  just as I passed them on to you.

Ephesians 4:14-15
 14.  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
 15.  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings  we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

2 Thessalonians 3:6
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching  you received from us.

1 Timothy 1:3-4
 3.  As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer
 4.  nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith.

1 Timothy 1:7
They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

1 Timothy 2:7
And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

1 Timothy 4:1-2
 1.  The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
 2.  Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

1 Timothy 4:6
If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

1 Timothy 4:11
  Command and teach these things.

1 Timothy 6:3-5
 3.  If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching,
 4.  he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions
 5.  and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

2 Timothy 1:13
What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

 2 Timothy 2:15-17
 15.  Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
 16.  Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
 17.  Their teaching will spread like gangrene.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
 16.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
 17.  so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

 2 Timothy 4:3-4
  3.  For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
  4.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Titus 1:11
They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of dishonest gain.

Titus 2:1
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.

Titus 2:15
These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

 Hebrews 13:9
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.

 2 Peter 2:1-3
 1.  But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
 2.  Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
 3.  In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

2 John 1:10
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

Khent: I’m going to walk around without pants on; it’s in anticipation of “His Rickness”. Hey TN Reb, get some oil ready.

Ok, now that that’s done...

Bob Dole. So, we’d have either a Bush-Clinton or Dole-Clinton rematch. Why not? Both of them do look better than Hillary!

Santorum is a LOSER! He lost by 17 points to a walking fern. I’d rather run Jon Huntsman than Santorum. Y U C K . . .
