Saturday’s disruption of a speech by Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders belies a growing rift on the left between liberal leaders and communities of color that feel they are not represented.
SATURDAY’S turn of events when two Black Lives Matter protesters thwarted a speech from presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was cringe-worthy.
The progressive alternative for the Democratic nomination expected a warmer welcome in Seattle.
The protesters used a coarse strategy that cut short what could have been a productive discussion with 15,000 people who turned out to hear the U.S. senator from Vermont. The protesters treated Sanders as an enemy instead of someone who could usher in solutions.
Saturday’s fracas reflects a growing sense of disconnect between marginalized people of color and liberal elected officials who claim to represent their interests. The protesters called Sanders and members of the crowd “white supremacist liberals.”
Sanders’ populist message of improving education, worker rights and curbing the power and profits of billionaires resonates with many liberal-leaning voters.
Black Lives Matter activists want more. They want to know what Sanders will do to combat racism, the kind that leads to police across the country repeatedly killing unarmed black men....

Even then, I’m sure they’d find a way to say we only did it out of some racist motive to harm them.
Remember back to one of Trumps fist large rallies, was it Las Vegas (not sure)?. In the audience there were some disruptors. They got hauled away before they got to disrupt anything.

In my experience the people with most virulent anti-Semitic beliefs are secular Jews. No idea why this is the case yet every time you see some activists out crying for the end of Israel and the uplifting of the Palestinians there’s always - and I mean ALWAYS - a secular Jew amongst them.
Progressive alternative?
Hillary has Secret Service protection due to being the wife of a former president. All the others have to buy their own security. Even halfway qualified bodyguards are much more expensive than most people realize.

It may be attempted on Trump, but he has a very good security team. Hairs will get mussed if any of the “protestors” attempt such with Trump.

Again with the whole unarmed thing, anyone who knows what they are talking about will understand that just because you are unarmed does not mean you are harmless, people have been kicked with just a punch and a kick or by other means.
