A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday shows Carson with 20% support among Republican primary voters nationally, just 1 point below Trump.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) tied for third in the poll, both grabbing 11%, while former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's (R) support sunk to 7%.

Carson is being pumped up by Democrat crossovers.

A dry-run for the primaries.

Time for the media to do point shaving in their polls to see if it produces an opposite Band Wagon Effect.

Of course they'll miserably fail in the end.

Trump's latest crowd.

I get a kick out of many who proclaim Trump is not a conservative, or that he is a false conservative. So why are these people powerless to elect a “true conservative” as president?

What exactly have the “true conservatives” in congress accomplished?

Obamacare scrapped? Illegals deported? Wall built? Abortion outlawed? National debt reduced?

If Trump can deliver any 3 of above, he is more than enough conservative for me and most rational people.

Trump is conservative on these issues:

Pro life since at least 2011, wanted to ban partial birth abortion as far back as 2000.
Pro Traditional marriage. "Gay rights is not my thing."
Pro capital punishment "Capital punishment isn't uncivilized; murderers living is"
Hold Judges accountable
Opposes "Common core is a disaster" Teach citizenship, quit "dumbing down".
Anti education unions (2000)
For school choice
"Climate Change is a hoax"
"No Cap-and-Tax"
For drilling our own.
On Environment "Good development enhances the environment"
Stressed the importance of a strong family & culture of life (2015)
Supports Israel
Opposes Iran deal and letting Iran obtain the bomb.
Wants to crush ISIS quickly.
Wants a military so strong no one will challenge us.
Against unbalanced trade deals that kill American jobs.
Against warrant-less government surveillance of citizens.
Is against having a high national debt. Warns that $24T is a point of no return.
Against gun control
For assault weapon ban but says the AR-15 shouldn't be considered an assault weapon.
Wants to repeal Obamacare and replace it with market driven polices and increased competition among insurance companies.
Wants to increase military spending.
Will close the border to illegals
Will send the criminals and sponges back.
Will deport all illegals but will let the hard working ones go through the legal process to come back.
Against Anchor babies
Knows unemployment is much higher than official stats.
Will bring jobs back through better trade negotiation.
Attended military academy and Wharton Business School.
Stood up for Birthers and challenged Obama on his fraud. Believes USA is "the greatest force for freedom the world has ever known"
Wants to honor commitments on Social Security and Medicare, which we can afford to do if he gets the economy going full steam.
Wants to reduce the fraud in disability and other programs.
Against marriage penalties in tax code.
Wants to simplify tax code with just 3 simple brackets.
Wants to reduce income taxes and eliminate corporate tax.
Wants to rebuld our infrastructure.
Wants to apply welfare-to-work to 76 other welfare programs (2011)
Doesn't have time for political correctness.
Not afraid to call out either party or both when they are wrong.
Not a puppet to rich campaign donors.

I’m so happy that more and more people are seeing that.

I doubt his name is mentioned each time a call is made. They probably mention Cruz 20% of the time when choices are given.
These numbers do not compute with the enthusiasm that is seen.

> “What IT is ... is Obamacare done Trump Style.”

You’re wrong. Trumps said two weeks ago that it is going to be market based but the state monopolies are coming down. Trump is right that there is no competition at the state level and that fact enables health insurers to skim billions off of companies and individuals without consequence.

Trump will come out with a health plan in due course and it will be in his words “fantastic” except to people like you who will be eating your words and hiding in shame.

Once again the media doesn’t even mention Ted Cruz.

****************

In this NBC poll which is the topic of this thread Cruz is in 6th place with 5%.
Why would the media be talking about him?

I think when people become aware of Carson’s ideas on how to deal with illegal immigration he will lose a lot of his support. He lost me on that issue.

Of course 3 other new polls have Trump at 32%-33% and Carson about 20 pts behind that. But I’m sure they are all wrong. (sarc)

Thanks for the picture but what I really would like to know is how big of a crowd does Dr. Carson draw? If they are as large as Mr. Trump’s, then the poll is believable. If not, the poll is a lie.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/2016_republican_presidential_nomination-3823.html

NBC/WSJ & Bloomberg are the outliers at 21%. Trump’s average is 23%.

Polling avg thru 9/24
Trump 23%
Carson 17%
Fiorina 11%
Rest single digits

Carson was smart enough to mimic Mr Trump in saying what everyone thinks. That will get him some “anything to slay the trumpdragon” cash. Does the MSM really think that dr droopy eyes will be the one to take out trump? That was their task. But he won’t play their game.

I think we do ourselves a disservice when we try to read too much into vague statements from Trump. Look at all of the hulabaloo about his tax plan that is based on people reading things into his statements without knowing what the actual plan is.

If the tax plan he unveils tomorrow is anything like the one in his book, it will be the most conservative change in the income tax since it’s creation. But how does he sell it? By saying it’s a huge tax cut for the middle class that punishes hedge fund guys who don’t pay any taxes now. Those two things CAN be true at the same time, since the plan in his book is a 4 bracket graduated flat tax with no deductions.

Trump knows that he has to fight all of Washington to get the plans he wants to actually pass. In order to accomplish that, he needs hugely broad support from across the political spectrum, so pressure from constituents on both sides can force congress to go along with his plans.

So, when it comes to health care, I say let’s wait a bit and see what he has planned. While I’m sure I won’t like everything Trump wants to do, he hasn’t disappointed so far.

So many of the people fighting Trump seem to be suffering from some kind of Stockholm Syndrome whereby they can’t accept the tactics of a man who actually MIGHT do the things that they’ve been saying they want for ages. They’d rather have a politician blow smoke up their rears than have a guy sell a conservative plan with populist language, which I think is really silly.
