Free Republic Straw Poll (January 2016 edition)
January 3, 2016 | 2ndDivisionVet

Posted on 01/03/2016 2:58:47 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.

The same can’t be said of you Cruz supporters, and many have said they would stay home.

Can you name one? An FR handle will suffice.

Is someone planning on counting the votes up on this thread sometime in the future?

I think I'm going to vote for Bernie.

More than anything else I want to make sure that the Hildebeast doesn't become president.

There is a small chance that enough leftist nutjobs could give a victory to Bernie in California which could lead to him being the unelectable candidate for the Democrats.

If the squishy Republicans in California decide to vote for Rubio or Bush, I don't think my vote would help swing things in favor of Cruz or Trump.

That’s where you are wrong.

I’m tired of voting “against” something/someone. In 2016, it would be really really nice to actually vote FOR someone/something.

Cruz is the only Constitutional Conservative in the race. Cruz supporters also prefer the idea of saving the country vrs burning it to the ground approach of the Trumpsters. Trumpsters are nearly driven by anger and emotion. Logic is a completly foreign item to them.

I don’t support the KELO decision or Trump’s stance on the Government’s right to take private property for whatever reason they think.

I don’t support Trump’s use of Alinsky-like tactics to hit other conservatives in the race

I don’t support Trump’s stance of Universal Healthcare or Big Government solutions

I don’t support Trump’s stance of higher tariffs which will kill the economy and jobs

I don’t support TARP or the Auto Bailouts (which Trump did verbally)

I don’t support Trump’s ignorance on State’s rights (virtually has no clue on 10th Amendment or the Constitution in General given his statements on the SCOTUS cases and Confederate Flag issue).

I don’t support Trump’s pandering to Democrats

I don’t support installing Trump as a dictator (which was advocated here in a thread to which no one has condemned)

I don’t trust Trump’s rhetoric because it is filled with numerous conflicting statements. Without trust, no one gets my vote.

Trump is in this for one thing: Trump.

But relax, what do I or any other Cruz supporters know? We’ve been told Trump’s victory in November is gonna be so UUUGE that our votes won’t even be needed because of the massive crossovers (who they think will be voting for liberal-lite over the Clinton/Sanders). Speaking of which, has anybody located those darn PUMAs from 2008 that were suppose to cross over?

I’m a Cruz supporter, and I’ve stated plenty of times that if Cruz fails to get the nomination, and Trump gets it instead, I would happily vote for Trump.
