I just got in from painting my porch and saw this thread. May his soul rest in peace. My prayers for him and his family.

He was a great American. He made the world a better place.

-All I could remember as a small boy was thinking "why do these people [media] hate him so much?"-

I know what you mean. I finally realized it's because he was a standard-bearer.

He had integrity and courage. He had strength but displayed it with gentleness, kindness, patience, and humor. He was completely convinced of the greatness of this country and he symbolized that greatness.

He was a true leader who loved his country, selflessly, to the end...and we loved him back.

Clinton probably wouldn't be as bad as I'd thought. Boy was I wrong.

FNC is doint it best because they have live people.

CNN has tapes in the can and you can guarantee they are skewed left. CNN is playing their pre-pre-pre-planed "homage."

THEY ARE PLAYING THE SAME VIDEO with the same little digs.

The left deserves to loose.

Interesting how Reagan created an Army of Young Republicans.

And Clinton created an army of older Republicans. For different reasons of course.

Reagan because he convinced so many about how right he really was. And Clinton..because he convinced so many about how wrong he really was.

Let the dems, the liberal media, and those at DU continue their disrepect for this great man. He was the most respected president in our lifetime.

I agree with you. There is nothing these people can say or do that will ever diminish President Reagan. Who really cares what mindless, hate-filled people have to say.

They can't change the truth, no matter how much they rant and rail; no matter how much they lie.

Perhaps they think attempting to tear down someone great makes their otherwise pathetic, meaningless little lives worthwhile, but it doesn't. When all is said and done, they are wrong and, if they have any intelligence, they know it.

Yes, that's right, he's nearly 80.
I've often times been told that deaths
of folks close to older folks during
their life times hit them the hardest.
I guess because their own mortality
comes into play.
I am sure President GHWB is broken heartened.

He'll be sorely missed. Even as a kid, I hoped he'd get re-elected. He had a bigger than life quality about him. One of the best presidents we ever had.

I loathe the press, Brian Williams got a little dig in saying Ronald Reagan was a "trained actor".

I know his passing is a blessing to both Pres. Reagan, and his family, but I still feel a big emptiness knowing he is finally gone, and now belongs to the ages.

Agreed. FOX is by far doing the best job remembering Reagan.

Clinton probably wouldn't be as bad as I'd thought. Boy was I wrong.

I voted Libertarian the first time, for Dole the 2nd. When Clinton won, I was hoping that as a fellow baby-boomer, Clinton might be ok. Looks like we were both wrong.

I am in my mid-40s and he has been my hero my entire adult life!

This is a sad day.

We say, "God bless America" and one of the ways He blessed us was by raising up Ronald Reagan to lead us.
