Great article and great post, Veronica. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Even though this is one article from a student papoer, it gives me hope that the next generation has more on the ball than we might have thought. I LOVED his line about how Michael Moore twists the facts so much that he could build an origami space shuttle. Too funny!!

True documentary filmmakers should be outraged that Michael Moore is considered one of them. He isn't and is only destroying the genre. Cannes is in self-destruct mode and is losing its prestige as the result of giving awards to crap such as Moore's films.

I have only seen bits of Mickey' work. His show on cable stunk on ice. What little I have seen, made wonder what was the big deal. I have seen film school students due much better with less cashola. So, based on what I have seen of his work, I agree: he is not qualified to shine Leni's shoes.

But why do so many buy the shallow lies of the blubbery boob?
Because Democrats think with their emotions and without logic. That's why they don't see their own flagrant hypocrisy.

Maybe Moore could be Hanoi john's running mate.

To counteract efforts challenging "Fahrenheit 9/11," he has hired Chris Lehane and Mark Fabiani, two former political advisers to Bill Clinton and Al Gore, to establish a "war room" that will immediately support any claims made in the movie that come under attack.
So, he wants to try to protect his ability to lie and get away with it. [Chris "the ferret" Lehane-- LOL. Only slime like Clinton or Michael the Hutt could hire him.]

"Lockheed Martin does not make missiles at that site in Colorado."

You are correct. Anyone who lives in the area knows this.

Moore is just another obese slob with a VHS camera that probably spends his free time sniffing little girl's bicycle seats.

This guy sure knows how to generate interest and hype for his movies. I don't think it has even been released yet!

Yesterday I went to see "The Chronicles of Riddick" here in Portland, Oregon. I was greeted by a short trailer of Moore's new flick "Fahrenheir 9-11." His film appeared to be very grainy and the clip I saw appeared to contain a collection of chopped-together scenes. One featured President Bush denouncing terrorism and then cut to a scene of GWB hitting a golf drive. Amateur, amateur, amateur . . . pure claptrap, Bovine Squat and arrogant lies. Not very clever, either. Michael Moore is stupid, stupid, stupid!

By the way, I recommend all Freeper sci-fi fans go and see "Riddick." It is a standard action-sci-fi adventure that will take your mind off politics for a while. Vin Diesel is just keeping his fans interested while preparing a sequel to his last blockbuster. Go Diesel! Down with Michael Moore !!!

Isn't Bowling for Columbine the one where they showed how 'easy' it was to buy a gun at a gun show...simply walk in, buy, walk out...but they left out the 10-day waiting period and background check?

When it's no longer fashionable to like Michael Moore, Hollywood will drop Michael Moore. He's only around as a court jester. He's too ugly and fat for their tastes.

He's dying...literally everyday. With his weight, I bet he is on max blood pressure medication...and without any lifestyle changes...I doubt if he has more than five years left to live. We may see one more documentary...but thats about it. MM will be history by 2008.

I really appreciated Dennis Miller's reference to Michael Moore on his show last week. He said MM is a "pain-in-the-ass slug and needs to have his ass kicked". Exact words. Really cracked me up.

Michael Moore winning ANY award in the documentary category is a slap in the face to those whose research puts forth a work of facts. I would be utterly insulted if his works won acclaim over my documentary (if I were in that line of work.)

If you know someone who likes Michael Moore, you know someone who isn't as smart as they think they are.

Anytime anyone I've ever known or met asks me "Have you seen Bowling for Columbine?" I've immediately lost 95% of respect I might have had for them before those words left their mouth.

Geez, you mean you didn't sue her and the school district for being mean to you?

Truman Capote IMO was a genius. He invented to some degree, the modern true crime genre. In addition, he was a great writer. An odd man personally, obviously, but a great talent nevertheless IMO.

And he's also rumored to be the real writer of "To Kill a Mockingbird."

A great book on Capote, that covers that rivalry, (between Capote and Harper Lee) - is Capote, by Gerald Clarke. Unusually fine biography. I don't believe it rumor by the way. But Capote was very annoyed that his life-long friend made such a splash with Mockingbird, which became an instant American classic.
