Just got a call from the Colorado GOP. President Bush is going to be in Greeley, CO on the 24th.
It's not "common sense" it's called "cowboy going to the throat". GAME OVER!
I already know. ; )
I was referring to those I've seen it happen to here and in other threads who don't deserve it.
Not worth my fussin over though, just had to say it.
Like that.
Unreal.
Then again, that doesn't mean it isn't KantianBurke with a new name. Whoever it is, I'm sure they won't last.
Welcome aboard and I certainly appreciate your profound perception on the situation in Colorado, Ohio, Florida and PA.
Guess you could say, why would Kerry waste the majic of Bubba on a State that he has locked up? (PA)
Must be "worrisome" as you put it so appropriately. Something is indeed amiss in PA I fear as well.
As far as voter fraud goes...I'll see you and your ilk in jail dude.
Ever hear of John Ashcroft?
Geeze, even when I'm off work I tend to smell out the Bozo's
Minor nitpick -- its Amendment 36. Yesterday I heard that it's failing by about 14 points.
Maybe, just maybe, Bush's campaign knows what they're doing!
Maybe, just maybe, Bush's campaign has better information that we have!
More on that last point --- I have volunteered for many hours on the phone banks this past month. It's not just voter turnout we do. There are also questions we ask and we write down the responses. Just the one office I volunteer my evenings at produces a thick stack of result sheets every day. When the last volunteer goes home, the head guy stays up late long after we're gone, creating tallies from the sheets, among other things.
I really would like to think that we're not doing this for nothing! Just a few miles south of us in Loveland, a similar office operates phone banks all day as well, doing the same thing. There are no doubt dozens or hundreds of these all over Colorado. And thousands nationwide. Late each night, these results are collected and combined somewhere, giving the GOP a very good idea what is going on with registered Republicans and Independents.
I have confidence that all of this unpublished data is being put to the best use to figure out where and when to target the President's visits.
Now for some theories as to his visit:
Even though over 70% of voters are against gay "marriage," practically NO Congressman wanted to face the intense wrath of the Gay Juggernaut by being the fall guy to sponsor the Marriage Amendment. Marilyn has NEVER make the M.A. the focus of her career. The entire amendment is only a couple of short sentences, for crying out loud! How long could that take to write?!? She introduced it and moved on to all the other things she wanted to work on.
Rather, it has been the intense hatred and nonstop screaming of the GLBT's Leftist allies that has made it SEEM like the amendment is the chosen focus of her career. A number of 527's funded by leftist fatcats - including at least one billionairess - have made her their Public Enemy Number One. If you don't live in Colorado's Fourth District, you cannot imagine the intensity of the Leftist hatred and the unlimited amount of wealth being spent to bring Marilyn down, every time you open your mailbox or turn on your radio or TV or play back your answering machine messages.
And if she goes down, you will seldom or never again see any politician do anything to incur the wrath of the GLBT lobby. Their power of intimidation will be unchallengable. They will have won a major victory and will be The New Third Rail of American Politics - i.e. "You Touch It, You Die, Sucker!!!"
Also, note Dubya is coming to Greeley - the center of Marilyn's base. It's where she had her victory celebration 2 years ago, BTW.
Thanks for listening!
PING.
YEEE HAAAW! I will only have to drive about 8 blocks from work to see President Bush, and I only have to go 3 blocks to get my tickets. Cool!
This one I can make!
Finally a breath of fresh common sense. I agree, more probably for the Senate + Musgrave boost. I just got my ticket, can't wait!
On the other hand, Coors is in a really tight race with Salazar. If a pubbie Senate seat flipped to the Dims here it would make increasing our Senate majority a lot harder.
I think Bush has a solid lead and his visit is to shore up support for Coors and the House candidates. I was surprised at the heated discussion on this thread. Only those inside the campaign actually know why Bush is showing up in Colorado. The rest of us can only speculate.
Kerry will be in Pueblo on Friday. For that reason I am glad the President will be in the State next week. However, make no mistake about it, this is about Bush suring things up. Any help it provides for Coors or Musgrave is icing on the cake. BTW, I am a CU grad and eleven year Colorado resident.
On the other hand, the Senate race is a real squeaker. Coors has made newbie mistakes on the campaign trail and Salazar has a bit of Daschle about him, portraying himself as an aw shucks Western moderate.
You're right that we can only speculate. The campaigns are sure as heck not gonna tell us what their internal polls show or what their strategy is.
I was also surprised by this thread. The one thing I do know about the Bush campaign is those guys are no dummies.
He doesn't have the same reason of coming here to help Salazar. Salazar has been avoiding Kerry like a plague-infested prairie dog.
