Just lately (noticeably since the US election result) there seems to be an awful lot of anti-British sentiment on here (there always was a little but I put that down to a handful of xenophobic kiddies)
What I would like to know is do most Freepers now share the low opinion that some (many) on here seem to have of our nation or is it just a small (but very vocal) minority of morons?
I've enjoyed this forum (for the relatively short time that I've contributed) and have always liked Americans in general, but I now find myself reconsidering my thoughts on both.
If we Brits are not liked or wanted around here, I think I'll probably discontinue my involvement.
I love the English, the Irish, the Scots, even the Welsh.....Love the country side in all...... just don't understand how you let the government take away your guns and the right to defend self an property? Sometimes I fear that the stiff upper lip is going a little to soft...
Northerners are much more hospitable than people in the South and as a rule tend to vote Labour.

There's a couple of French that have been on here in the past. One was the "Dissident Frogman",(I found his web-site through this site.), and Sabine Herrold(sp?), who protested about the French government's handling of pensions, or something. She also was supportive of us going into Iraq. I haven't seen either of them on here in awhile; so I sure hope they didn't get disgusted with the "French bashing" on here.
Honestly, I can't see bashing the whole country's people because of the behavior of their leaders, media, and the protesters! Some of my relatives came over from France; and I hate to see all of them being bashed!

And lots of comments about "Turd World Countries" and other veiled rascim or bigotry.
Not ALL FReepers are like that, but a FEW are.
If you are honest, you know that a few people here are like that.
Too many have bashed Britain rather than the left. It is leftist that want to surrender to muslim fundamentalist and let Western Culture die.
Speaking for myself, (the muffleys are british a few hundred years removed)I love a lot of things about Britain. I don't like the smarminess of some. Nor do I like the elitist in america either.
I have seen Freepers condemn Muslims and the Islamic religion (not just the jihadists).
Don't you remember when George W. Bush said this isn't a war against Islam and Islam itself is a religion of peace? The howls of protest on Free Republic?
Or how about every year around Ramadan, including this year, when President Bush politely sends Ramadan greetings, and people call it "disgusting" and get very upset?
But the preponderance of openly biased hacks masquerading as journalists (Fisk & Palast immediately come to mind) make it awful difficult to see the news media in the UK as anything but anti-American, and therefore deserving of my ire.
Oh, and all that being said, please stick around! From what I've seen of your writing, you don't fall into that hack columnist mentality.

I love Brits individually and even in families.
As a nation, they seem to make more poor decisions than DIMRATS do.
And, they have wholesale forgotten the God of their forefathers even more than we have.
And, when I stayed briefly at a new Hilton in London in 1973, their hospitality was nonexistent to horrid.
But I really like Brit Hume a lot--if I'm not mixing name with the wrong person. Isn't he the one who lost his son to the liberal idiots literally?
