"This is a bad day for:

bin Laden
Al-Zarkawi
Syria
Iran
Lebanon
The PLO
North Korea
Cuba
Teddy Kennedy"

You forgot name Saudi Arabia. The nation of which the 9/11 terrorists were citizens. How could you and the U.S. government have missed that important point?
Was Giuliani the only one that noticed?

I was watching BBC24 this morning and even they could not help but report jubilation in the streets by people being able to vote.

I also watched ITN News24 and there was a very moving scene shown on there of 3 Iraqi men carrying an old Iraqi woman in a white plastic garden chair they gently put her down in front of the polling station so she could go and vote. You could not have imagined this 3 or 4 years ago.

IMHO great credit must be given to George Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld for their conviction and steadfast determination to push forward. God Bless them and what a better present I cannot think of today for Dick Cheney's 64th birthday.

By the way they also showed on UK TV Basra where the British troops are in the South the turn out there I suspect will be in the 80% figures in certain area. It was reported no violence just a few explosions but nothing different than normal and pictures shown were of happy and in many cases quite relaxed people. Security was great with each person being frisked but no one seemed to mind all they cared about was voting.

I saw a clip on TV this morning I think believe or not the BBC of an Iraqi women giving the victory sign as she voted unbelievable. There was even one Iraqi woman standing in line without any form of head covering at all.

CNN just had a story that said 90% of Iraqi expats did not vote.

Would that possibly be because they have become naturalized US citizens or were under the legal age to vote? It's something CNN would be sure to leave out.

The DU crowd probably is actually disappointed that things have gone well.A sick bunch!!!

The first thing I did when I got up this AM was check Fox and CNN and I was delighted to see how well things went.

I posted early on that the elections would never take place today----I was wrong and I am thrilled that I was wrong.

This American is humbled by your service. You are not forgotten.

Many people on the ground over there post here, often. They seem to be able to make intelligent decisions on what is acceptable to post, and what isn't, from an opsec perspective. I'm really surprised you chose to mod that post.

Don't forget France and Germany as well

I think the list could take up a whole thread by itself.

We could add:
Michael Moore
Barbara Boxer
George Sorros
John Kerry
etc.

God Bless you and your fellow soldiers.

My thanks to you all for protecting the Iraqi's to allow them this chance for a history making act of freedom.

Thanks to the Iraqi's for not cowering before the insurgents and showing them they are not afraid to participate in this history making act of freedom.

I think because there were only five geographic locations in the US to vote.
