Thanks Again Pookie!!!
from Dallas this time!!
Steve
I had heard about that VW/Ted Kennedy ad but didn't know it was for real! LOL. I wonder if that is just a parody, or was it meant to be a serious ad?? Hard to believe that VW would actually run such an ad. I first heard about the ad from a guy at the YAF conference I attended way back in 1979. I think that was the same attendee who proposed starting a YAF chapter called "Mary Jo Kopechne Memorial YAF." :)
Ted Kennedy just appeared on the Today show moments ago. I had to fight the urge to spit at my TV.
Thanks pookie
Great 'toons today, Pookie! Thanks for the ping! My favorite was "Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda, where have you been". (All in the name of compassion in the "religion of peace" of course, LOL!)
no wonder W sounded so distracted during his address.!
Well, real enough for Mad magazine, IIRC. :=)
Oh OK, I wondered if it was in a humor magazine of some kind. I guess that makes sense. ;-)
I don't think I've ever seen the distinction in political philosophy expressed so clearly as in Chuck Asay's cartoon shown above. The editoon is great. Not to detract at all, but I've always viewed the different ideologies as the main distinction between Republicans and Democrats as opposed to conservatives vs. liberals. (I.e., Republicans believe that the people know what's best for themselves, while Democrats believe that the government knows what's best for the people.) Any insights other than the fact the vocal Republicans are by-in-large conservative whereas the vocal Democrats are by-in-large liberal? |
Keep sticking with those red states!!
