PAINFUL TACKLE FOR PLAYER (Soccer - a game played by real men! ;o) )
http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-13437430,00.html ^

A footballer had to have six stitches in his penis after it was ripped open in a tackle.

Chavdar Yankow, 21, sustained a three-inch gash playing for Hamburg 96 in Germany.

His shorts were "soaked with blood" but team doctors managed to patch Yankow up.

Amazingly, after the painful incident Yankow returned to the pitch and played on.

And the German went on to score in his side's 2-0 win over Frankfurt.

Soccer: A game for socialist sissies.

Correction..."a game for socialist sissies that go back into the game after having received 6 stitches in their groin."

A definite yahoo-wee there. But as my dad used to say: "Suck it up, you got all summer to heal up."
I changed to sports where one didn't have to spend the summer "healing".

Real men play Lacrosse.

nah.... thought about it for awhile... Now I love American Football, but real men/fans love a fight.

Experiment, get a bunch of guys and go to a park...in one area there'll be a basketball game, in another a baseball game, in the field a football game.... and then a fight breaks out in the middle... where does everybody go...?????

They go to the fight. After all is said and done and IMHO all fighters think they are the best...boxers, wrestlers, karate, judo, etc.... so they've got this really great way of PROVING IT.

MMA (mixed martial arts)... in other words letting two guys go in a cage and kick each other's a@#.

So I think real men play...MMA -UFC ( mixed martial arts-ultimate fighting competition)

..... or tennis.

I'll let the "real men" pummel the crap out of each other. I'm a wimp like that, one hit to the nose & I run off like a 2nd grade girl (Unless I feel really threatened, in that case, ...).

I kind of like hiding behing a good helmet.

It's amazing how ballsy sissies get behing a keyboard. Any 5 year old girl can run after a soccer ball and kick it in the goal. Wow, real tough-guy sport. Unnngh.

I have played soccer. It sucks.

The Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee Championship is more exciting to watch.

"It's amazing how ballsy sissies get behing a keyboard. Any 5 year old girl can run after a soccer ball and kick it in the goal. Wow, real tough-guy sport. Unnngh." The same could be said of basketball of course. I see no need to denigrate a sport or anything else, just becuase you personally don;t happen to like it. Football (soccer that is) is the most popular sport in the world, so it must have something going for it.

It's popular because all you need is a ball. It's great for poor kids to play around the burned out hunks of a t-55 tank while mustafa is strapping dynamite to their cousin.

Usually, when people grow up, they move on to something a little more complex and mentally stimulating, but ther will always be cling-ons to the ultra-simple.

As for popularity, the worlds most popular spectator sport is auto racing.

"...so it must have something going for it."

Don't waste your time, if someone's masculinity is threatened by what others do or don't do, no amount of logic is gonna make the case.

Like all over Europe, South America, Australia, Asia.... What crap. Usually, when people grow up, they move on to something a little more complex and mentally stimulating, but ther will always be cling-ons to the ultra-simple. What, like basketball? As for popularity, the worlds most popular spectator sport is auto racing. That would be Formula 1 I presume? Or do you want to make a case for NASCAR?

A three-inch gash in a sensitive area is closed with only six stitches?

Sounded like a bit of a stretch to me.
