That was my first thought: "culture of cronyism and corruption". Get ready, 'cause here it comes!

I see you got your DNC talking points. This is an old one, though. You have to demand some new ones.

He should have resigned before he went before the judge.

This guy has really screwed the pooch and, if anyone cares, he should be put on suicide watch.

If the Duke had been a Dem he would have lost his subcommittee seat many moons ago.

ROFLOL!!!!! If Duke were a Dem, he'd be promoted, and they'd throw a parade in his honor.

The worse the crime, the higher you rise in the RAT party.

KKK.....Byrd. Murder.......Kennedy. And let's not forget RAPE...........xlinton.

Duke should pay for what he did.....and because he's a Republican, HE WILL.

May the Dem party once again have a shred of honor left, and deal with its scum in the same way.

Oh, they had to be sure to put in this unrelated and out-of-context information, didn't they:

"Cunningham's pleas came amid a series of GOP scandals. Rep. Tom DeLay of Texas had to step down as majority leader after he was indicted in a campaign finance case; a stock sale by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is being looked at by regulators; and Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff was indicted in the CIA leak case."

Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein and all are now in second heaven. Duke screwed up, confessed and is taking his medicine.

It will be a cold day in hell before the clintoons of the world owe up to their misdeeds & deceptions.

Randy Cunningham is not perfect. He just overstayed his time in the spotlite.

Cunningham is a war hero....and is guilty of wrongdoing...so the dems WILL call for his resignation, after stomping all over him to stick it to President Bush...

HOWEVER, Murtha, also a war hero....who is being investigated for the same sort of illegalities, will be protected, and if the GOP were to question whether HE should also resign, if found guilty...the GOP would be excoriated, and accused of going after Murtha because he spoke out against Bush's war...

I am just watching to see how these two cases will be handled...

I'm glad he is taking it on the chin. After everything he has done wrong, at least he is doing that right.

I don't think these disturbing GOP revelations are over yet. Sadly. I can only hope if there are more skeletons lurking in our closet, that they FESS UP NOW and get it all over with so there's some time between the revelations and the 2006 election, and there's time to get alternative people to run.

If more dirt leaks and dribbles out over time on the road to 2006, there WILL be a Pelosi/Reid-led Congress in our future-- YIPES!

Cunningham has already tendered his resignation: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1529978/posts

Hopefully conservatives will clear the field for Kaloogian to ensure that he defeats whichever RINO runs and, hopefully, get 50% in the first round and avoid a run-off.

Before every one starts calling this person a hero, this is where he got his hero status;

An associate of Wade, Brent Wilkes, president of a Poway company called ADCS Inc., also gave Cunningham campaign cash and favors. Wilkes reportedly flew Cunningham in a corporate jet to go hunting in Idaho and golfing in Hawaii, and a charitable foundation Wilkes started spent $36,000 hosting a black tie "Tribute to Heroes" gala in 2002 that feted Cunningham with a trophy naming him a hero.

Sure he was made it as a flying ace but hero, I wouldn't say so.

True just wanted to remind all this low life is a product of the Chicago machine. He freely used Streets and San workers on public time to campaign for the seat when Blagoevich won governor. One of the little known nuggets that have surfaced during the hired truck scandal..

At least Cunningham had the courtesy not to drag it out. Kaloogian doesn't have a free ride. Another individual mulling the race in ex-Coronado Rep. Brian Bilbray (he moved up there). Bilbray was fine for his old seat, but he's too liberal for this particular district. Susan Golding, the old RINO Mayor of San Diego is also a potential candidate, as is Bill Morrow, Bill Horn, and Charlene Zettel. Kaloogian is clearly the best of the bunch.

I don't think there is a politician or an elected official in the U.S. that has not at one time or another taken a bribe or done something for someone as a favor for profit or for old times sake.
Having said that, I will also say, to take a look at all of the Rep. and Sen. of the U.S. and what do you come up with? You come up with people who take bribes, pedophiles, homosexuals, lesbians, adulterers, adulteress, corporate prostitutes, Rep. and Sen. condoning baby killing, dopers, drunks, people who believe in euthanasia even when there is still a chance of being productive, killer, traitors, fifth columnist and sell outs. Those are just a few titles that can be put on most of our so called distinguish colleagues. (Rant over)
