A community college student in Massachusetts faces possible disciplinary action for shouting "Remember Chappaquiddick!" during an on-campus speech by Democrat Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Paul Trost, 20, a student at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, Mass., says he was upset by an introduction of Kennedy given by Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., in which the congressman noted how the long- time senator overcame hardship in life on his way to success.
"Lynch said Kennedy had overcome such adversity to get to the place he was, and that's a bunch of bull," Trost said of the introduction, which occurred in the school's student center Tuesday morning....

Trost said a teacher who overheard him talking to another student about the incident called him "ignorant."
Ten bucks says that teacher didn't know what Trost meant by Chappaquidick.

"There is no disciplinary action planned against the student," Dick Cronin, Massasoit spokesman, said this morning. "The student was spoken to by campus police. That's the end of the matter."

I think you are generally right that speakers, however odious their personal opinions, deserve at least a modicum of respect if they have the public floor.
But here's the difference: Teddy Kennedy or O.J. Simpson are murderers who continue to escape justice in this world. They should be SHUNNED. Hounding them is simply too good for them. People who apologize for them and preach tolerance for them are accomplices after the fact to the murders they committed, letting them go on with their lives as if nothing had happened.
Ann Coulter deserves a pie-free existence. So does Michael Moore. But murderers of any stripe who have escaped the hangman or prison deserve regular public humiliation, and should stay silent at home.
How would you flog him, then? Ignore him?
This is effective treatment. Don't silence the man. Just remind him and his listeners, before every speech, that they're cooing and clapping over a murderer. Then leave.
Far better than the tactics of the left, which are intended to silence political dissent. I don't care if the SOB speaks to his accomplices. I just want them to know that they ARE accomplices, and will be judged, too.
