Then I'm gonna be real quiet and tip toe to bed so no one sees me. :)

Your own Internet Service Provider (ISP) is supposed to give you some free space to store pictures and such so you might give them a call.

From spaceflightnow.com -- don't forget y'all

"The seven space shuttle Discovery astronauts flew to Kennedy Space Center this morning from their training base in Houston in preparation for Saturday's planned liftoff. The launch countdown remains set to begin ticking at 5 p.m. on Wednesday."

Ihanks for the offer, but they want a lot of personal info to upload a picture

Yes, you can use http://imageshack.us/. You can store pictures there without signing up, but you have to keep your own recored of where they went if you want to post them again. Signing up gives you access to all of the stuff you store there. Uploading is easy, they'll resize for you, and they give you the html code for various methods of posting. With a big picture that you want folks to be able to see the full resolution and thus don't' want to resize, you can post a thumbnail version with a link to the big version.

I just saw a blip somewhere that Isreal has flat announced they're GONNA assassinate Olmert!

Whilst that might not be a Bad Thing, it seems unlikely given that Olmert is the Israeli Prime Minister. ;)

No pics from my vantage point along highway 132 -15 miles west of Modesto.

Found a spot off the highway with an unobstructed view to the south. Arrived at 8 pm. Set up one camera on the tripod and another in hand. At 8:12, a CHP pulled over, climbed out and asked what the heck I was doing. He seemed satisfied with the Vandenberg launch story, told me to be careful and he was on his way. I packed it in at around 8:30 and headed back home. Had the top down on the car and kept scanning the southern horizon but saw nothing.

Not a totally wasted trip though. Got some nice sunset shots while I was waiting, an nice visit with a CHP without getting a ticket and my sinuses got cleared after passing by a couple of dairies. :)

With all the clouds and pollution tonight, the sunset pictures should be great.

It was so touch and go there I just stayed home and watched the updates, we ended up just walking around the block to get a better view. Maybe a wireless laptop down the road is a good idea.

Kept looking for it but didn't see a thing. We have quite a bit of cloud cover.

My buddy asked if I wanted to meet him to try to catch this launch...he had never seen one, so I agreed. We set up at the Amtrak platform at Bob Hope Airport (Burbank) which offers a clear view of the skies. I relayed to him how the ICBM rockets would go this way, and the Orbital drops from the L1011 fly a certain other direction. This launch took me by surprise as it appeared to head south and south east. With my binoculars I saw the booster rockets drop off and the main vehicle fly off into the yonder. Surprising there was not much contrail over So Cal, just that one patch of toxic cloud.

In case you are wondering, my friend used a Canon D20 digital camera with a zoom lens...
