I thought I was coming down with Alzheimer's and that there was little hope. But then came the seizure, the nearby cop, and the life flight to Columbus. The cat scan showed it to be about a 3" mass and there was talk about it being a tumor, or a lesion. Of the two the lesion is much better. A lesion is fully self contained as opposed to a tumor that has little fingers coming out and it is next to impossible to get it all with surgery. With a lesion one can remove 100% of the cancer.

We do not know as of yet, the tests are not done on the biopsy but it is likely that the brain Cancer is a extension of the lung cancer. It has likely been growing for years.

When a brain tumor grows it must find space and it gets it by displacing the brain. This puts the brain under huge stress causing loss of memory and thinking ability and the likely hood of seizures.

So I have a pretty good situation. The Surgeon got all the cancer removed by surgery. He assured my several time that he had it all. What is left is a follow up safety procedure to kill what ever cancer cells are floating around in my body, but they are not visible anywhere. It is just a safety precaution.

I am on steroids to reduce the swelling after the surgery, anti-siezure medication, and some pain killers. I injured my back in the seizure. I do not have headaches I have backaches.

I also have about a 5 inch incision on the top of my head.

But I am home, and feel my prospects for recovery are good. I went outside today and fixed a tire on my car. I feel good.

Lisa has been very good to me. I did not tell her why I only wanted to be just friends.. I never mentioned the Alzheimer fear..... that is until today. And I have high hopes she just might say yes if I pop the question.

Lisa's family has been very supportive of our relationship. But my children have been a bit leery and advising caution and "making sure". That changed to "she's a keeper and .. don't let her get away from you.... in just the last week.

Once again I am grateful to you all. Free Republic means a lot to me and free Republic is its posters. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and and GOD BLESS.
