"I voted for Bush twice but I do blame him and Clinton for this mess. Action should have been taken sooner. Now it is too late."

Did you really mean to address me? All I said was "ROR" in response to "Rut Roh". :) Anyway, all I can say is "too late"? I might agree if it was Iran's Psycho who tested a nuke tonight. Kim Kong Ill is ill, yes, but Ackminojackarmadillo is iller.

Unfortunately, the NK have missiles that can reach Alaska and soon will have missiles that can reach most of the continental US.

So they say. Keep in mind that even right up until the fall of the Soviet Union, the USSR never had any guidance systems that actually worked. The best they could hope for was to aim at Washington and maybe hit New York. The only real threat was from Soviet subs.

Although, all these a$$holes need is one in a suit case and a ride across the Rio Grande.

Yawn. So does Russia and China.

Proliferation is another story but we have to deal with that differently.

Fox just now reporting that USGS is detecting seismic activity out of NK right now, which is odd.

Not odd if they're detecting incoming nukes.

USGS should have been checking freerepublic where seismographs were posted on this thread.

There hasn't been a single seismograph trace posted on this thread that shows anything remotely resembling anything that could have been the nuke test.

The US developed nukes in the 1940's with nothing even as powerful as a Pentium 286.

Not so sure...we had Oppie's brain.

Time for some strong faith polly. I am just not thinking this one is all that NK wants us to think it is.

Letting China have Litton technology.

You know the guidance tech went to NK.

Odds are that the device is a pretty big one in physical size. Way too big for a missle and certainly too big for a suit case.

Seems to me that China might decide to take care of this one themselves...nuclear Japan and S. Korea has to freak them out...and a rapid arming of that part of the world might even lead to a nuclear Taiwan...they may decide to off the North Koreans and save themselves the trouble of dealing with all the other Asian powers.

It has been popular belief that NK has had nukes for years. This just confirms it. I suspect Japan had already been planning on a nuke program.

There are few things we can do about this except work towards an internal coup but even then we have to worry about ensuring relative stability as we don't want complete chaos to ensue and terrorists getting the nukes. Dicey situation. It's not like Pres Bush can just push some button and fix this. Sorry. You will just have to deal with this I'm afraid. I've dealt with this since the 50s.

Yeah I agree. Some believe China wants this though. Who knows. We live in a strange world...that is for sure.
