A Return to Triangulation (libertarion vs social right)
National Review Online ^ | 10/25/06 | David Boaz & David Kirby

As the Republican base fragments and Christian conservatives consider a “fast” from politics, the polling data point to a mid-term Republican thumping. Less than two weeks from now, Republicans will begin their post-mortem soul searching. And as the corpses of their House and Senate majorities grow cold, so should Karl Rove’s 2006 campaign strategy.

Your welcome. I felt your frustration from afar. This author has been reading his own press clippings way too much.

There is plenty of challenge in Academia for the Theory of Evolution, not the basic theory itself, because it has been pretty well as proven as it can be, it happened.

The specifics are what are being debated now, and they are debated very thoroughly and in some cases very hotly.

The DNA evidence has become overwhelming, but there are a few mysteries still to be solved, there are more and older fossils coming in, and where they fit is also hotly debated.

The Theory of Evolution itself is beyond debate, the specifics are what are being questioned, and will be for some time, as new evidence comes to light.

Thank you! Maybe you and I and a few others could try again, to get it all back on track and if THAT fails, have our own internal chat about nothing. LOL

"Are confessions made under duress valid? ;)"

Valid or not, it still gets you 3-5 at Gitmo.

Do you have the level of education that she does?

I can't speak for Dimensio, or Mom MD for that matter, but I do know that Mom MD just applied the 2nd law of thermodynamics to an open system to support her argument, and that is just plain wrong. It is freshman physics for crying out loud!

Are you in a state of "duress"? Have I water boarded you, or tortured you in any way?

I take it that you ARE a retread, then; a cowardly one, who was banned for good reason, but crept back under a new nic. Okay, so now that we have THAT all settled, what was your nic here, before you were banned?

"What has been hijacked is this thread! Instead of it being about the article posted at the head of this thread, it is FR's Darwinists V. Creationists."

I agree.

Wow, look at that, we agree.

The authors of this article, suffer from what is called delusional wishful thinking, and must have been smoking vast quantities of illegal substances to actually write it up as if it were true.

As President Bush said, they are already measuring for curtains, and they haven't even had the loan approved.

They are jumping the gun, and the more snide and confident they get, the more the American electorate is going to turn on them.

Just thinking about a house leader Pelosi gives me the creeps, and her spouting off the first 100 hours in power had to be one of the most idiotic things she has ever done.

Then again, the Dims have never been very intelligent, they lie to get into power, but she spouted the truth, whoops.

We'll, at least not a complete moron (like the idiot in this article). Two more weeks and we'll know how it all shakes out.

That's funny since I see a LOT of debate within the great unwashed. Ya'll may be leading but who is following? If evolutionists are limiting their science to the process between "creation" and death then there is a gaping hole in potential knowledge. Today's evolutionists are using brute force through the courts and schools to validate their view of this issue. That is a sure sign of insecurity in their own ability to educate those that come to their classes with strongly held beliefs.

However it shakes out it 2 weeks, you can be sure that Libertarians weren't much of a factor in determining it.

Yep, that "first 100 hours" garbage, said by Pelosi, was enough to turn everyone's stomach for a week.

Methinks that the Dems have not only much over played their hand, but have made so many gaffs, that even Mr. and Mrs. I DON'T PAY ANY ATTENTION TO POLITICS UNTIL A COUPLE OF WEEKS BEFORE ANY ELECTION, have been really turned off.

I agree that evolution does not address anything other than what happens during the animation cycle of an organism. It does not address how that organism came to be animated. If Evolution is that limited then science is left with a gaping hole and maybe it should be addressed.

Evolution can only address what it was meant to address. Specifically, it is imperfect replication and a change in alleles in a population over time. It only deals with living organisms. It cannot, and does not, deal with non-life. I agree that I would like a theory that would explain that, but that would be another theory entirely. Right now there is not enough evidence to go beyond the hypothesis stage.

If science can reproduce "creation" in the lab then ID or Creationism is forever discredited.

Actually, I've had that discussion with others. Creationists will not consider ID or creationism discredited in those circumstances. I believe that the exact response was "get your own dirt". Meaning, do it without any atoms to work with. It never ends.

So, there is hope after all. Common ground. I have nightmares about Pelosi being Speaker. I also fear that the dims will leave our troops out to dry if they get into power (as they work extremely hard to pursue their impeachment agenda against Pres. Bush). The people of this country had better be awake on election day, or we are all in deep trouble.

This whole thread is pretty tortuous.

I take it that you ARE a retread, then; a cowardly one, who was banned for good reason, but crept back under a new nic. Okay, so now that we have THAT all settled, what was your nic here, before you were banned?

No, actually, this is my one and only account. I signed up in early '01, six months before 911. Does this change your perception of me at all? I've been on several freeps, including a solo freep of Castro-loyal Cubans at a socialist gathering, and one where two handfulls of us freeped an anti-war crowd of 3,000. Here are some pictures. I'd like to think I'm among friends.

Sorry, I was just trying to make a joke. I posted in libertarian threads back then, too. I was just trying to say libertarian bashing threads are old hat.

Plants make sugars via photosynthesis, and everything else eats those sugars in some fashon or other (that is a very basic description).

Did the first cells engage in photosynthesis?

Seems like you're skipping a couple of steps.

Cheers!

Yes, the time grows short; doesn't it. LOL

I can hardly wait for all of the Dems and the MSM and even some of the supposed "conservatives" to awake with so much egg covering their sickly wan faces, that you can't discern egg white from skin tone.

We are going to lose NEITHER House!
