I think you’re right.

America is still conservative. In fact, I’d venture to say about 50% of so-called liberals are conservatives that just don’t realize they are conservative. It takes a guy like Fred or Ronald Reagan to help them realize that.

Getting on board with Fred... I like some of the other candidates, but I think this rise tells me that others are not all that excited about the current crop as well... Something has to stop the Guliani train that would really destroy the social politics of the Republican party...

I have been thinking that there may be a possibility of Bloomberg taking wind from Guiliani thus putting Hillary into office. I doubt Bloomberg would hurt a more socially conservative in Fred. The biggest problem being a Democrat elected to the Presidency. Not that there would be much difference between Guiliani and Hillary on the social side of things.

Thompson bashing is Hillary driven. She must keep her attack team exercised and well. Any threat toward Hillary will be game for a quick attack! They will work to destroy anyone who could beat Hillary.

Watch out there. In the Senate race the Dems played up Lazio's encroaching on Hillary's space and how threatening she was. The feminists are not above playing the scared little girl when it is in their favor.

Several years ago Barbara mikulski changed her vote on SUV mpg ratings because she said women needed to feel protected from men and that driving SUVs was an important part of women not needing to feel afraid.

Thompson has made a fortune in a decades-long career as a Washington lobbyist. And just this month, as part of his role as the ultimate Washington insider, Thompson offered to host yet another fundraising event for Scooter Libby's legal defense fund. Thompson has been vocal in his support of Libby, saying that he would 'absolutely' pardon him. As he runs for president, he'll try his hardest to hide the truth from the American people

Fred has released his income tax records. Did their hero, Der Schlickmeister ever release his? Or his medical records?

"Hide the truth" about Scooter Libby? Fred has made no bones about his feelings that Scooter should be pardoned.

You bet the Dims are scared. Even my brother-in-law, a life-long Dem, likes Fred (and loathes The SheBeast).

"“Democrats (and Hunter supporters) tear into Thompson."

More like "Democrats (and Hunter, Tancredo and Paul supporters) tear into Thompson.

Typical dyke-talk. Real women love to feel protected BY men.

Compared to the career politicians, yes, he IS an outsider. He's been out of the Senate and in the private sector for YEARS, earning his OWN money rather than living off the taxpayers like some welfare bum.

I'll vote for a guy who's not dependent on cronyism for political survival ANY day. As for lobbying, a million over that many years, to try to get a nuke plant (alternative energy source) and bail out the banking industry (which imploded anyway through greed - cronyism again) is hardly Linda Daschle. Anyone who REALLY supports Thompson can make a credible counter argument based on a comparison to the INSIDERS currently in the race on both sides of the aisle.

This is nothing but the Rockwell Doctrine being put into play again.

"I think they got this one backwards. It seems that lobbying was his hobby, and acting the way he paid the bills. Sen. Thompson probably made more money in one season of 'Law and Order' than in 20 years of lobbying."

He made half a million as a lobbyist, not the one million I originally thought. That is not only NOT "a fortune" but unless he was being paid farmers wages on Law and Order, we can ALL bet he made moe as an actor than as a lobbiest.

Acting, as his number one source of income, was therefore his career. This article, which states that acting was NOT his career and implies he made millions or hundreds of millions as a lobbiest, is nothing but a

>> if haven’t seen Bob Beckel on Fox - he’s a Dem strategist. He’s says FDT has the DNC scared........

Though I try to avoid Bob Beckel ... that doesn’t surprise me. I was young during the Reagan Presidency (born in 1979) ... but from what I have seen and what I have read of both Thompson and Reagan, Fred certainly does remind me of Ron.

His opinions are conservative, sure ... but his means of delivering those opinions in a straightforward, common-sense manner, and connecting with average people while doing it, is very Reaganesque.

GWB is a smart man, and is conservative in most respects (his immigration stance notwithstanding) ... but he is sorely lacking when it comes to SELLING conservatism.

Thompson strikes me as the kind of guy that could get the movement back-on-track. He might just be the guy to reinvigorate conservatism as Reagan did in 1980.

"As he runs for president, he'll try his hardest to hide the truth from the American people"

He released TEWNTY YEARS worth of tax returns when he ran for the Senate.

How many more lies will they tell?

Ya know, if they have to lie, they have nothing of any substance to tag Thompson with.

Watch the NEXT level of the new Reality Show, Nature of the Charges, premiering NEXT WEEK!

And be ready for more fragrant and steamy BS.

The problem is that they can lie, and know that a lot of people will believe it, because they WANT to believe it.

"A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth gets its pants on" -

It's like when a liberal newspaper publishes something blatantly untrue. It's a screaming, above-the-fold headline. The retraction, gets put on page C17 (if at all).
