I'm not going to call Bill O'Reilly a liar... yet, but... on his TV show today, he read off a laundry list of ridiculous "hate" statements like "I hate blacks," "Hillary should be assassinated" and "homosexuals are dogs" that he said he personally found on Free Republic and claims that they were posted here today. I do not believe that. I doubt that he personally logged on to FR and I doubt he found any such thing posted here today.
Who knows what we may have missed and is buried deep in our archives of millions of posts, but our readers do a pretty good job of alerting us to anything out of bounds that is posted and we pull it. Also, one of our readers found a couple of the quotes he alleges, and if they are the ones O'Reilly is complaining about, he took them way out of context. They were simply quotes in the articles posted not statements posted by FReepers.
As soon as he provides me a list of the alleged posts and their URLs, I'll believe him. If he doesn't... then... well, guess he'll deserve to be known as what he is.
People love the alcoholic uncle and invite him to family dinners, but they are on edge throughout the meal and are relieved when another relative finally offers to drive him home. The hosts are especially happy if, when the evening ends, no one has a split lip and no furniture is broken.
When I think of O'Reilly, I feel sadness and disappointment, because his oversimplification of complex issues and his overbearing personality negate a lot of the good he tries to do.
One minute O'Reilly gets carried away with a cause and runs it into the ground. The next minute he permits only the shallowest discussion of an important topic.
I like the ordinary give and take of real conversation/debate about important topics. That type of discussion can be easily found with impressive regularity on FreeRepublic.
As a former O'Reilly fan, I'm saddened to say that I would not expect him to be able to control himself enough to really absorb what is posted on Free Republic.
You notice he never took any posts from the numerous Prayer Threads. Something that doesn’t exist on LibercRat websites.

You are correct about O’Rielly’s agenda. He is still smarting from earlier Freeper comments about his lack of character, sincerity and honesty. He is particularly upset about comments made here about his sexual misconduct and about his secret deal to buy off the woman in question. Given a chance to strike at FreeRepublic, a man like O’Rielly just can’t resist. lol.
I can think of a more appropriate place...
I recall after 911 that the no-spin bloviator spent months (years?) lecturing the American public that we shouldn't condemn an entire religion for a "mere" 130,000,000 bad apples.
He hasn't done that lately. You don't suppose... ?

I don’t watch him anymore, so i haven’t a clue what he’s up to now.
However, he used to really push for legislation allowing gays to adopt, wonder if he still makes such passion filled arguments?
